Im applying to become one, and im worried about the drug testing. Ive stopped smoking pot, but im concerned with the hair follicle testing. Ive read about shampoos but i dont want to waste money.

Does every department do hair follicle testing? and is there anyway around it.

also the polygraph test. if they do take hair, can they tell when i last smoked, or just that i smoked period? i dont want to mess up on the polygraph test.

Every person I have talked to about being a cop is as worried as you. It’s not the hair test you should be worried about, it’s the lie detector test you have to taken when they drill you about what dugs you have taken. If you have done anything but pot, kiss that career good bye. LSD & Shrooms are going to fuck you if they find out you took them.

chances are Bro they won't spend the $$ for the folicle test, but the bitch is if they ask you about the weed on the polygraph and this department is one who has plenty of qualified peeps applying for the job. They generally don't care if you have smoked pot, but the question will be worded "have you smoked pot in the last 5 years", then "in the last year", and so on. If they have guys that haven't smoked in years, they tend to go wih them. If they are having a hard time filling positions, sometimes they overlook some of the past history...

I have a buddy who I use to snort blow with (yah I'm old LOL) who had no problem getting in the RCMP. He gave himself 12 months to "clean his blood."

So, go for it.

haha, well, im applying now, and the test is possibly in feb, so, who knows.

although i havent smoked in 3 weeks. im still gonna go for it.

Like I said, it wil depend on the agency. You obviously have a certification, have you ever worked as a cop? if so, why did you quit? so you could smoke weed?
