Be honest and you will be fine.
I agree!
Bro why do you want to be a cop? The reason I ask , do you want to be the person busting people for the same things you have done? I think it’s very commendable to want to be a police officer, but come on bro. Do you really want to lie about stuff that might surface in the worst possible place at the worst possible time?
Look at it like this… Say if you went in and you lied and they found out. You would be pissed off you lied and didn’t get the job, not to mention you will be branded as someone who isn’t trust worthy and lies. You would have to explain it to everyone WHY you’re not a cop.
But if you told the truth “Yeah I smoked weed a few times, hated it, made me sick, etc.” And I tried a [INSERT DRUG] few times. I think if you told the truth it would GO way better even if you didn’t end up at that department. And to help matters, you have some time before hand. Go volunteer at a teen shelter get involved in the community you’re applying for. SHOW you care and want to be a COP!
Good luck man, whatever choice you make.
Here is some more info on the hair testing. Looks like it's time for a trim
Question: Can body hair be drug tested like hair from the head?
Body hair can be drug tested just as hair from the head. The growth rates for body are considerably slower than the hair from your head. Most body hair is replaced in about one year. It is challenging to precisely represent the time period of a standard screen with body hair so substances may be detected in body hair for up to 1 year after the substance left the blood stream.
Question: How effective is hair follicle testing in detecting drug usage?
In comparison to a urinalysis drug test, cocaine, PCP, opiates, and methamphetamine have proven hair analysis far more effective than urine testing in identifying low-level drug use over an extended period of time since these are normally out of the bloodstream in within 3-7 days. The detection of marijuana is currently less sensitive than the other drugs in identifying low level drug users, but is considered approximately equal to urinalysis in identifying marijuana users.
The detection period for hair is limited only by the length of the hair sample and is approximately 90 days for a standard screen.
