acne?

lilleole, i'm about to try it myself. my back is breaking out pretty good, hasn't in a long time, and i'm tired of it. I personally feel it's worth the risks involved

80% of the people that use accutane don't need a second treatment

why bother building up a tolerance for antibiotics anyway?

If you're acne is SEVERE with or without juice you're just fucked, period... but for bros with breakouts due to gear or PCT / hormone fluxuation, a low dose of (40mg) accutane will most likely clear it right up without harsh sides.

I'm sure some people in this thread have been on very high doses (80-120mg) and I can imagine at that point that the sides would be hell (bloody anus)... gladly I didn't really have a problem with acne in the first place but got some nasty breakouts on my back and shoulders thanks to test and a hardcore PCT.

40mg ED cleared it ALL up for me toward the end of the second month and even made my face a SHITLOAD clearer/smoother (I didn't even have a problem with my face but I'm not complaining now!)

I'm still on it right now, 3 more months to go (6 total). Probably gonna do 60mg for the last 3. I'll see what the doc says.

But like I said, a low dose of accutane seems to clear STEROID ACNE up with no problem and very light sides (moderately chapped lips, dry skin). So if your acne is due to your gear you should be good to go... if you were a greasy toad as soon as you grew your first pube then you will probably have to deal with some harsh sides in order to solve your problem

B5 all the way. I love the stuff. It works too.
Tanning will help dry it out a bit too.
Get a body scrub that specializes in acne too. The B5 will work from the inside while the scrub works from the outside.
-I would like to hear more about "bactrim" from those who have used it!

Ya I guess anything is better than acne. Just a good idea to try healthier things before jumping right into the accutane. Probiotics work well too (acidophillus, bifidus, etc.). Get a blend with at least a billion live cultures in it. If it has FOS, then that helps the bacteria survive past your stomach acids.

what would be a reasonable estimation of how long I'd need to be on this shit..? Like 40mg/ED.

any others tried BACTRIM?

Acutane works really well, its pretty damn expensive , so see of your insurance will pick up the tab. You get really dry, so you might want to wait till winter time to take it because you will get your ass kicked if your in the sun to long. it is supposed to take care of acne for good, but i do have one friend that gets it really bad when he does higher doses fof test still. I would suggest talking to yoyur doctor and trying a little less extreme med first, if you get no response, then shoot for the accutane

My dermatoligist said the "cumulative dose" (how long and how much total into your body) is whats important when you do accutane, he's got me on for 6 months. 2 at 40mg ed, 2 at 60mg ed, 2 at 80mg ed. even though I'm completely clear now we're running the whole 6 months so that i wont need a second course.

I was just about completely cleared up after the second month at 40mg...

the medication is pricey though, do what i did... www.ehealthinsurance.com get yourself a PPO plan (probably a lil over 100 a month) if you dont have health insurance (an HMO won't cut it)

then go to as many derms in the list as it takes until you find someone comfortable to prescribe it to you, your insurance should cover the majority of it ($15 for generic prescription for me)

there might be a few extra bucks you have to pay (whats not covered in your bloodwork) but it all works out well and you save money

Ya I stayed on 40 mg ed for 6 months and that's probably why it came back after about a year. Probably better to work up to 60 then 80 like Tical says. I guess if I can't talk you out of it, I at least wanna help so you only have to go through it once.
