A diet for a month-long period of no lifting?

InTraining

New member
I will be getting surgery in a couple of weeks and will be unable to lift for around a month. Cardio won't be a problem, and I'm planning on doing something like four 60 minute sessions a week to stay in decent shape.

So I'm wondering what type of diet you would suggest to 1. Allow me to retain as much muscle as possible during this period 2. Keep fat gain to an absolute minimum. In terms of macros I was thinking something like 200g protein\day and keeping the carbs pretty low and the fats moderate.

Stats: 210lbs 15% BF

Based on my stats, the metabolic calculators I've used have me somewhere around 2800-3000 calories for my base rate a day. I'm thinking I will eat somewhere around 2600-2700 a day just to stay on the safe side.

Thanks for any help

hard to say. everyones body will react differently to not training. i would say feel it out. muscle loss really wont start till the 4th week or later so you might not have to change much but eliminate fast acting carbs.
