HI:)

I am training a young man for fun and teaching him some of the things I know. And he is soo very very nice and kind and full of goodness that it is just a pleasure.

I AM NO GURU or ANYTHING special, But I DO believe in Body Building as HUMAN art and thus take it very seriously as I do with Supplement formulation.

The young man Has been training for 2-3 years I believe ( not 100% Sure)
He lifts mostly in an instinctual circuit style training way from when I watched him before. And then when we spoke I was like "NO NO NO bro " thats NOT how you do it in my opinion

For me and for those I train with the AMOUNT of weight MEANS NOTHING to us.

If you can lift heavy on certain movements by default then super

You don't need to lift like a power lifter to look like a bodybuilder

good improvement! specially in shoulders, chest and back. I guess he is using top notch supps. :)

Definitely has an attractive build. Small boned, but good muscle bellies and look.

Another 10-15lbs and he would look sick.

The only thing I see him lacking is depth and lower lat thickness, BUT he has tons of potential. If he's reasonably handsome I could see him modeling no problem.

I gotta be honest and say that I believe a solid 5x5 program would do more for him in the next 6 months then any amount of sculpting will. I'm pretty sure his legs are twigs as well so he could probably stand to gain some reasonable thickness from pushing heavy weights on squats, deads, bench etc.

I can appreciate bodybuilding as an art form, but I think what the majority of gym lifters need is a focus on the heavy basics and getting strong at them and I think he is no different. With his tiny tiny waist and good shoulder width, thickening up would only add to his look imho, rather than detract from it.

Just my opinion.

Thanks DJ !

He LOVES LIPOFLAME and uses Amplify02 sometimes too lol
I hope the next 6 weeks are fruitful!

GhettoStud:

Sorry Bro he is doing great and will go far WITHOUT the heavier programs.

Also I am focusing on his Upper back since his lats would take over if we trained them too hard I can just tell.

Same with his legs, they are there, but I intend to help him Sculpt his form without ANY mistakes or backtrackings.

He will get from POINT A to B in the fastest time possible AND with Safety.

Glad he wont waste 5 years of life and multiple injuries Like I have.

also gotta be careful with those heavy lifts though if he is still setting a foundation. heavy lifts can thicken that smal waist. lookin good to me. i would be more interested in hearing about the workout program though if you get a chance.

EXACTLY not only that, but some of them are not very good for Mass in target muscle bellies,
ALSO I feel power movements actually CREATE and institutionalize body imbalances and "favoring" of certain muscle on lifts.

it why super strong guys are stuck and cant really develop some body part DESPITE being super strong

BTW I know how to get SUPER Strong but find it to be a menial and idioc endevour for the Ego.

Sorry bros I am Philosophical on this stuff lol :)

On the flip side...one could argue that sculpting a perfect body is also a menial and idiotic endevour for the ego. Just food for thought.

damn omega!

U weren't kidding about that kids potential in ur original thread. Only 6 weeks in and such a difference. Gotta be gratifying to see ur help take effect in such a visible way.

think ur being a great bro for that kid. Only wish i had had some1 like u to show me the ropes when i started.

he's gonna look absolutely insane if he keeps this up.

You know how i know your gay? Your talking about very nice young men filled with goodness!! hahah jk bro, excellent progress in just 6 weeks those gains are good...what were his pre/post stats? You can tell he was lean before/after...good work, its always nice to teach people shit, I can still hear old school lifters in the back of my head when I do certain exercises telling me "watch your elbows" or "nice and slow on the negative"

Maybe

BUT if you say your a bodybuilder and are in pursuit of Hyper Trophy, BUT train like a Power lifter and wonder why your not growing then sorry your out of luck.

hence a menial and idioc endevour.

Its is :)
And thanks for the kind words.

My main interest in all this besides helping the young man is for a focus on the true Bodybuilding routines, NOT the new POWER LIFTING ONES which i think hurt the main stream person physically and other wise.

Great work. Looks like he is very dedicated to his work outs.

he is!

but at first he did not eat right:( which was the biggest obstacle

and also he talked alot when we first worked out like between sets, and I was like "dood no talking, we are training" lol

Nice work, Omega. What do you have him doing for back exercises? Do pull-ups fall into the category of "heavy lifts that can thicken a small waist" ?

he was overly concerned about his body weight but I believe he has gained 7 pounds thus far

no unless you do them weighted

That is some nice improvement. How about posting up the routine you are using with him and how many days a week etc. What % of his max etc. I am curious as hell

thanks Sir :)

He was not pumped on the pics

the pics were taken after are first exercise which were rows.

Any pic I can take of him will NOT do his body justice.

I hope the 12 week pics are truly awsome :)

thanks again!

I may post his routine later, it s abit elaborate

could you recommend a sample routine (such as the one you recommended to this guy) so we can see your different perspective on training? iv always lifted hard and heavy to grow, and i recently was introduced to a new routine i tried last week and intend to do every other week, that involves full body 3x per week with a more superset and constant work style.

While BB is such an honorable endeavor.....please....most BB didn't get enough hugs from their Mommies or enough pussy in high school, so they focus on what other think of them. While strength athletes compete w/ them self’s in a pursuit to be a stronger person. Menial and Idiotic.....so says a weak BB IMO. That is lame Omega, especially when posting in the weightlifting forum...

For that matter post up some of this kids lifts so we can make some 'menial' comments.

To be fair I think Omega originally posted this in the supplement forum & it got moved.

great progress, although you need to educate yourself on what 'powerlifting' training actually is.. it's not maxing on a shirted bench every week and living off lil debbies.

good point

he IS getting alot stronger and we are tending to lift heavier now out on Necessity to get a response

but I try to keep it more Bodybuilding/ Art full and our isolation exercises really are paying off in lue of power exercises

No one ever grew a thick back using cables or machines. IMO they come from heavy, scary pulling. I know mine did.

Dorian, whom I know you enjoy, was an advocate of compounds. Cutler even said in a recent interview that he 'got big doing heavy deads, rows, squats, and chins' and went on to say 'typical gym goers would benefit much more from training these lifts, and leaving the machines for when they have filled in their frames' - I am paraphrasing of course, but that is what he said.

for me it was Heavy Squats, Heavy Bench, Heavy Dead lifts

bascially anything that OVERLY increases the circumfrence of your waist line to such a degree that repeat use incease muscle size of the obliques and actual Abdominal Muscles.

The only that helped me was to "detrain" my self from that kind of training and do Cardio for a while

hmm I do all those exercises and I don't exactly have what I would call a big waist, fat yes, but not big :)

it's all genetics man, you either have em or you don't

Fair enough, but what happens when you finally achieve a "ideal" body, is their any reason to continue to workout more then is required to maintain it?

Hi I just saw this reply, sorry for not replying

I think our workouts are difficult enough that it requires the challenge of work both mental and physical, thus I dont think you can just "maintain it"

By the end of our workouts he feels done but I push till we complete all of what is needed.

I think you can "back off" for while but after too long some of that extra devlopment will have to be re-earned.

I am developing a 'thicker than I'd like trunk'. I have wide shoulder and well built/proportioned chest but am lacking the v-taper because of a spare tire that won't quit. I can see my top abs and have veins popping in arms and shoulders but a bunch of unsightly fat around the middle. Just curious what I can do to help the illusion.

More cardio I guess, cuz I'm not gonna stop the big 3.

Ah okay, thanks. I'm just new to the whole thing so I'm trying to understand what certain people do and why, helps me better to determine what I will do myself.

I'm not a fan of the BBer look but that's some pretty good progress there bro!

However, I feel the same as ghetto and believe that you have to get strong first...then you can specialize in BBing or w/e you would like.

just my 2 cents.

I appreciate the input and respectfully disagree

I truly believe getting to strong INSTITUTIONALIZES muscle imbalances IF your going for an Aesthetic look.

If your just doing it for the "Look" then I agree with you, but you gotta definitely have a muscle base to work from and while you can get that from body building splits, heavy compound movements usually will improve the muscle base much faster.

Not that it really matters in your specific case as it seemed like he was in good shape even before you started.

lololoolloollo

just wait till next week and tell me if you think the same:)

nodiggitydave thanks Elitefitness.com is a great place

end of this coming week:)

they should be impressive but remember he is not on "elite supps" lol

oh yeah no leg shots as he just did the basics for them

next time I train him 3 months form now we will do full body.

Need an update to this thread, Omega your a nice guy to be really helping this kid, good work :) Please post the workout program

I need someone like you to get me into that shape, I have been been doing the 5x5 all Summer and have gained 10lbs after almost 4months of working out, thought I would have gotten bigger after all this time.

Every single exercise I do is 5x5 = every set gets heavier, where last 5th sets of 5reps is ball busting heavy. Should I be doing some exercises with like 8-10reps ??

there IS an update....awhile ago. It was a seperate thread. No he didn't give away 'teh secretz 4 massive gunzzz'

If you didn't gain as much weight as you wanted, why don't you eat more?
