Dairy really causes mucus and keeps mucus in the body. Viruses and Bacteria thrive in mucus.

My Gastro told me, milk is for babies. We are the only adult mammals that drink milk. You will not see any full grown mammal other than humans take dairy.
Soy milk or almond milk is a great alternative.

The anti-milk propaganda machine loves to downplay the intelligence and ingenuity of the human species. We are the only animals to build machines, utilize mathematical equations, split the atom, etc. Should we go back to hunting and gathering days, since that is what animals do? Also, this idea that we are the only species to drink the milk of another animal is horseshit. Have you never witnessed a mother dog or cat, nurse an abandoned infant of another species? Also, some species of ants domesticate aphids for a milky exudate that they secrete. Don't downplay the miracle of the the human body. We have evolved to produce our own enzymes capable of digesting and utilizing numerous foods, vitamins, minerals, etc. Lactose intolerance is mainly found in countries where cattle farming and milk consumption has been historically low, this is an evolutionary trait.
If we were all lactose intolerant from birth, then everybody would be shitting themselves. I don't have lactose intolerance...I can drink a big glass of milk without shitting my guts out, unlike those with true lactase deficiency (which is again, because THEY don't produce lactase).
Where in nature does the Twinkie live? Thank God, Captain Crunch discovered those long lost species of Crunch Berries.
...my suggestion is to get another gastroenterologist.

anyway, it is generally true that humans are lactose intolerant or rather become that way over time. however that doesn't mean that all humans must become intolerant suddenly one day. how come i can put down a gallon of whole milk a day without getting the runs? not to say that everyone can do it - i know guys who are younger than me who can't.
you do also realise you are recommending soy milk to men - i'd rather not risk the potential estrogen spike (i'm still not sure whether they have proved it conclusively, but i'm not about to take the risk). whenever i find i'm finding it difficult to digest whole milk i will use lactaid.
blueta2 said:yes unfortunatly I do smoke. I am not a heavy smoker (3 a day). I guess we all have our vises. We all have something we do that's not so good for us.
I also recommended almond milk. Low intake of soy products will not cause hormone spikes.

Our brains have NOTHING to do with out digestive systems. Because we have a higher intelligence than animals (well some humans any ways) this changes our digestion is some way? Please enlighten me?
We can get calcium from MANY sources other than dairy. You obviously lack knowledge of nutrition.
Are you a doctor? Have you studied the human digestive tracked? Probably not, so you have no data to even say "We have evolved to produce our own enzymes capable of digesting and utilizing numerous foods, vitamins, minerals, etc. Lactose intolerance is mainly found in countries where cattle farming and milk consumption has been historically low, this is an evolutionary trait"
My gastro helped save me from horrid stomach troubles....I think I'll keep him, but thanks for the suggestion. Maybe you're available to treat me?! ;-)

MR. BMJ said:I'm at work right now, but when I get home i'll get into more detail. Let me guess...are you part of the PETA group?
You sat here and stated I know nothing about science or the digestive track, but yet you throw a bunch of unscientific links to sites such as Mercola to me?....LOL! That guy is the biggest quack I have ever seen. You should see some of the bright stuff he writes outside of the milk industry as well....like on Aspartame. He uses no science behind anything he writes.
BTW...I AM a Nutritionist and Food Scientist.
Show me one piece of evidence that ALL people are lactose intolerant at birth and cannot produce these enzymes on their own. Also, I never stated that 'some' people do not suffer from the condition of having Lactose-intolerance at birth, nor did I state that some people such as A Creed, can't develop problems later on in life. For these people, the simple solution is to cut back or eliminate lactose. Any retard knows this. However, those who are not born with this condition, or do not have any symptoms of it, CAN drink milk without lactose causing a problem. Fiber gives people gas, should we not eat this as well? That's like saying we have to drink blood to get Iron....lol.
If you think the human body has not evolved over the years to adapt to changes, then you know nothing about digestion yourself. If you think the human digestive tract/body cannot produce enzymes for digestion of the different foods we eat, then you are the one that does not have a clue. The body is very capable of producing these enzymes unless they are genetically deficient from them at birth. Again, show me the evidence that EVERYBODY is lacking these enzymes to break down a simple Glucose:galactose molecule?
I never stated that there were no other food sources for calcium...you must have got that mixed up reading some of them pseudo-science sites you recommeneded to me.

And no I am not part of PETA. Why, cause I don't drink milk, I am part of PITA?
You talk big, but you don't make a hell of a lot of sense.
Ever hear of Beano? Do you know what that is? It's an enzyme we force into our bodies when we get gas from eating veggies. Why? Well b/c again, most of us do not have the enzymes to break down veggies like cauliflower.
That is all I'm going to say of this subject. Thanks for your insightful jargon though![]()

I read it like a year ago, but don't remember reading anything else about it since.
I sure hope not. I'd really like to start trying more soy products.
I hope all that stuff about milk isn't true and is just junk science, because I can't imagine life without that jug.

blueta2 said:There have not been enough studies to prove the estrogen spike theory, but I can tell you, as a women who is 40, if I take too much soy, I do notice a PMS like feeling, but only when I cosume too much.
The info about milk is not "junk science", there are many studies showing the effects on how bad dairy is for the body, especially for allergies etc.
All I can conclude is what I've learned from my own experience. My entire body and health changed when I cut diary out of my diet. I used to get horrible post-nasal drip, chronic cryptic tonsils and sinus infections 5 times a year. When I was informed by a homeopath to stop all dairy, I too thought she was nuts, but when I finally did, within 3 days my post nasal drip was GONE, I never got another sinus infection (I SWEAR TO GOD) and I get one bout of Cryptic tonsils a year only. I do believe the mucus dairy causes keeps illness in the body.
Like I said, not pushing my opinion on others, just telling what made me healthier![]()
I actually think its milk with lactase enzyme added to break down the milk sugar. Hmmm. I am 37 and I drink it without issue. My Fiance' is 53 and no problems. Depends on genetics I think.a creed said:I don't think Lactaid is Soy..............

funny, i am asthmatic. earlier this year i had a severe attack - my nails were blue, my bp was 190/100! within a week my weight dropped from 225 to 205. milk or no milk, i've been having these problems.MR. BMJ said:Yes, it is not a secret, that milk exacerbates asthma, due to the effects it has on mucosal viscocity...And if the woman's child is ALLERGIC to milk then by all means take him off of it. However, because some are ALLERGIC to the proteins does not mean that it is bad for all. Do you think peanuts, corn, eggs, and all the other potential allergenic foods are BAD for everyone? All food proteins are foreign, what food do you know of that produces human proteins?..and not one that is Genetically Modified.

it's partly to do with the city where i live - it's known to be terrible for asthmatics... not sure what it is in the air, maybe pollen, i don't know. the other factor as - i hadn't been to a doc to treat my asthma in years (the last time would have been anywhere between 15-20 years ago when i was a kid). everytime i got breathless i'd just take a puff of my instant relief inhaler.
then in jan when i got sick, it just wasn't working at all. i was desperately taking puffs from the inhaler, i self dosed on salbutamol... no effect. it was so serious i had to go to the doc - turns out i had not bothered to keep in touch with the latest developments in asthma meds. preventive meds have been around for some time but i had missed it because i was just ignorant. since then i've been on preventive therapy which means medication every day for the rest of my life. things have improved immensely - probably won't be the same as a few years ago - i may have permanent partial lung damage which i haven't yet confirmed... but i don't struggle with thick mucous in my throat and heavy wheezing. i just thought i'd share this for whoever has a similar problem.
