I went to the Dr's today to have some blood work done.

6'3" (that doesn't seem to change)
237.75 lbs
bf% = not sure

Took this before I went:

I plan on getting my body fat done at the end of the month to check my progress. I started at 250lbs on January 9th.

I hear you on my delts. I am doing the best I can. They are very difficult to work with a partially torn bicep tendon. Side raises kill the tendon.
I think I would look a lot better if I could pump those guys up. I am going to try and hit them twice a week and see how that works.

dude...you look great you worry too much. Your lacking point is shoulders. But overall, looking good. Just flex like your signature and you'll look pretty much the same. So you're still 6'3" huh?

I am still sticking to the ultra clean diet. I am going to the stoor to buy a ton of chicken, steak and veggies to cook all my meals today. On Sunday I cook for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On Wednesday I cook for Thursday and Friday. I foodsave all my stuff after I cook it. It makes everything so much easier.

Someone told me I looked skinny the other day. Then again the guy is 175 lbs... LOL

On the weekends I work as a bouncer. I used to work at a club that had stabbings all the time. Tons of fights too.
I actually partially tore both bicep tendons the same way while working there. They happened about two years apart.
Both happened while having to choke someone unconscious and carry them out.

I am totally with you on that one. I was dieting for my first show and I was down to 230 and people were calling me skinny :worried:
 
I floundered making my meals last night. I need some more motivation. I looked skinny in the mirror last night too. LOL. Some things never change.

Lets see. It was six degrees out the other day... windy too. I have not gone tanning since September... and this is how I dress during the day on weekends.

Hey, cheer up dude. We are all always harder on ourselves than others are on us and it is easy to focus on one or two things that we'd like to change and not notice that the whole package is coming together nicely.
 
I have just been real lazy lately. I think the lower carb thing is slowing me down big time.
It will all be worth it this summer though. I have to keep reminding myself that.
 
Yeah, and the low carb thing makes muscles look at bit deflated. Remember that when you feel skinny. When you recarb you will see your muscles puff back out. I know you probably know this but hopefully it helps to hear it.

Ketogenic diets always made me feel crappy and a bit depressed, and the lack of energy made me dread my workout which lead to me cheating too often. I'm not against them, they've done alot for me at times, but I don't think I could stick with them for a long time anymore.
 
I have been rethinking my diet goals and workouts lately. I may actually use a bulking diet next winter. I have never done that before. I don't like to go over 10% bf. I feel like a fat slob and my life starts to fall apart. I think I will try to bulk up with somewhat clean foods say from November through February. Then clean it up and see what I can hold on to.
Who knows. I will probably continue to do everything the same way.

sounds like a plan. It's easy to get bored with a clean diet as it's very hard to maintain it. But I know you can do this Slat,I've got tons of faith in you.

BTW: what kind of seasonings and things do you use to spice your diet up a little????
 
Yep, I concur with the other gals...nice abs! Perhaps you should show us your glutes?...lol. Just teasing, sorta. Seriously, though, it looks like you really improved your pecs since the older picture. =-)

When I diet pre-contest I go 2 days up and 2 days down with my carbs. Keeps your leptin levels where they need to be and will keep your metabolism from slowing itself.
 
Right now I am supplement free other than two protein shakes a day. One pwo and another before bed with anpb.
Hopefully, I will get good news on my liver. If I do I am going to grab some Beverly stuff. Most likely Ultra 40, Mass Amino's and Muscle Synergy. I am going to switch over to their protein too. No more screwing around.
I think I am going to put my oatmeal in a protein shake for breakfast too. I can always use a few more grams of the stuff.
I am just in a funk right now. It happens once in a while. I will pull out of it. My diet is still spot on. No cheating.

The ladies keep me motivated.. and... its not from the nice things they say. It is from going to their forum and reading their logs and seeing all the progress they make. They do so much better than the men on the board for the most part.
It doesn't hurt that they are all attractive either :)

I blew out my lower back last night :(. I have degenerative disk disease. It is real easy to do :(
I think I need stitches in my finger too.
What really sucks is I am supposed to spot/load at a powerlifting meet this weekend.
If its not one thing its another.

Just found out from my Dr. that my liver values are normal again. Thank god. Now if I could get my test levels at a decent range!!

the aniti-inflamatories are starting to work. I am still having trouble walking, sitting and laying down :(
I am taking tonight and tomorrow off from the bar. I also cancelled working at the powerlifting meet.
I would have had a fun weekend and some cash to show for it. Not now :)

I am looking more lean though. I am ahead of schedule. I figured I would be here around the middle of April.
It just goes to show what a good diet will do for you if you stick with it.
I can't wait to get my hands on some Ultra 40, Mass Aminos and Muscle Synergy!!! :)

Good luck honey it's not fun pulling your back out. Rest,heat,rest,meds. I hate it when I do it makes me feel like I've back tracked about 5 steps. Very irritating. If you need a nurse I'm here. :)

I will be getting a body fat analysis done later this week. I will post of some progress pictures at that point.
Today will be my first day back in the gym since last wednesday when I screwed my back up.

I changed my diet up a little bit with QS's help. Thank god I did. I needed it. I have a little bit more carbs now and a few more calories. I was pretty flat before and was burning out.
I started this morning and I already feel better.
Last night I burned out quick. I was doing incline and had to stop after 7 reps at 225. I usually bang out 10 then go to 275. I just had no strength or stamina. I am hoping the extra carbs will help.
Legs tonight. Lets hope my back holds up!

Were you not eating any carbs for your preworkout meal? I try to eat a serving for m1 and my preworkout meal if I don't I am out of the zone while lifting and tire out quick.

How low were your carbs? How high are they now?
 
Here is an update on my meals:

8am 1 cup of oatmeal in water with two scoops of protein (proV60.. switching to 3 scoops of ultra size)

10am 8oz chicken or lean beef with veggies

noon 8oz chicken or lean beef with veggies

3pm 8oz chicken or lean beef with veggies

6pm PWO shake. Myoplex (switching to 2 scoops of mass maker next month)

8pm 10oz chicken or lean beef with veggies

10pm 2 scoops ProV 60 with 2 tspns of ANPB

* After talking with QS's Sister I am going to remove one whole food meal and replace it with a shake with some anpb. It will get my body more carbs, protein and quality fats (body uses them like carbs). I think my 3pm meal would be best suited for that.

At some point I am also going to take 4 Ultra 40 and 4 Mass Aminos with each meal. I will also be adding in 8 Muscle Synergy twice a day.

I took these last night. They are not that great. I think using the flash washed a lot out. I will try again without the flash when I get my bodyfat test done.

Damn, that is loooowww carbs! I didn't go that low on my PRE-CONTEST DIET until I carb depleted. I would go flat as a board in about 3 days on that. You will get lean fast. I would lose way too much muscle if I went that low.

I did chest the other day and stopped at 225 on the incline after 7 reps. I usually stop at 10 ( I can do more ) then move to 275 for a few.
No size, no strength, no endurance.
You are right. I was told the same thing about the carb level by a guy who writes for MD. He said I eat less year round than he does precontest.
Part of the problem is I feel like blowing my brains out when I am above 10% body fat. I feel like a fat slob.

I was going to say something about your fats. What are you macro's on this? I see your adding anbp so that's good. SO you doing that 2x good. Nice and clean too that's good and solid. You will lean out quick doing this diet,keep us posted on your progress and how you feel while on it. :)

Hopefully, my bf test will shed some positive light. If not I will be depressed as hell.
I am going to get a seven point test done. My hope is to be in the low 9's.

If you want to get healthy fats in, I'm all for the Protein + Fat before bed. Sometimes I'll add Extra Virgin Olive Oil to my chicken, or cook my chicken it in to get is more fat during the day. I never got into ground flax or fish oil, or fish for that matter (since I can't eat seafood) but I think this diet will work great for you.

You are NOT a fat slob :rolleyes: ... there are plenty of guys out there that would LOVE to have a body like yours, even now when you feel it's at its worst.

Hang in there.

I am not carb sensitive at all. Pre-contest I am still going up to 400 on some days. I only dieted for 4 weeks for my last show and didn't do any cardio. I think we have similar metabolisms. I am in the 240's at 6'1 right now. I tend to overdiet and lose weight too fast, I learned my lesson on that one. I hate having terrible workouts and feeling weak, it's just part of dieting though.

My fingers are crossed for you. But talking as a woman I think you look FINE but I understand how it is we are our own worse enemy. Just try not to be so hard on yourself.

Started 3 scoops of Ultrasize with a cup of oatmeal in water this morning. I may need a cement mixer for it. My blender was working over time.
Hopefully, I will get my bf% done today.

I went to the gym to get my bf done. They only had the electronic calipers so I am going back tomorrow to get it done with the Lange's...
 
I called to have my bf done friday. I was told they would call me back to schedule it. They never did.
When I was at the gym on Sunday I tried to have it done. There were no trainers there. I set up an appointment for Monday.
Monday I went to get it done and they didn't have any calipers. The trainer told me he would have them today and to come in at 8:45am
I went in at 8:40am and stayed until 9:10am when he called and told the front desk lady the "machine" would not be ready until Friday.
I am going to have my buddy do the 7 point test with Lange calipers instead. The people at my gym are complete morons. I am in better shape than the trainers too. That is kind of rediculous.

Maybe your size scares them. But personally I would rather have a trainer that looks like you as my goals are more in the lines of BB as for most women well they get intimidated by the mier thought of it.
 
My buddy did the test. I am not sure how accurate it is:

chest 8
midax 12
supril 14
Ab 19
subscap 13
tric 10
thigh ? can't remember.

bf% = 14.73
fat = 34.61
lbm = 200.39

This goes to show that it is important to have the same person administer the test each time!
 
Slat - I had to show the trainers at my last gym how to do a skinfold caliper measurement. I'm talking a room full of trainers & they're all looking up where exactly a subscap measure is supposed to be. OMG. REALLY scary.
