128 mb or 256 mb Vid Card?

Well, I'm still waiting to get my new comp, and I happened to browse over the DeLL site again - now they have that same video card I wanted, plus a new one...

The Old:128MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon™ X300 SE

The New"256MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800

The problem is, the new one of $153 more. Is this worth it? Is it a big difference? I mean, it's double the memory, but in the DeLL descrip of the products:

The Radeon has: Controller Data Width of 128-bit and 64-bit on board memory data width.

The nVidia has: Controller DW of 256-bit and 256-bit on board memory data width.

I have no idea what the two data width options mean, but the nVidia seems to be way ahead of the other one.

Diablo II, Age Of Empires, all old SNES RPGs along with Genesis, GBA, N64, PSX (sometimes), and other consoles emulated (not new-generation). Yuri's Revenge (Command & Conquer game), Infantry (downloadable online game), Gunbound (also a downloadable online game), Worms World Party.

That's the gist of it. Planning to maybe buy Everquest or some MMORPG like Diablo. I get a kick out of those.

if you're going to play the very latest games - Doom3, Half-Life 2 - you'll want 256, otherwise no.

Well the thing is, I don't know if I will 'utilize' it. I don't know if it's necessary. The numbers sound good, but they can be deceiving.

DT, let's say I didn't have 256 for the latest games...

Would it run slower or anything? Or would it be horribly blocky (the graphics)? Or just...not optimal?
