I do hope that things continue to improve for you.
I can tell you one thing that kind of helps, nothing is
EVER worse than the first one. Hopefully it won't happen again, but if it does the next time you get one, try to keep your head enough to recognize what's going on. If you know what it is, you
can ride it out and it's not as horrible. For me, they lasted like 20 minutes and they're like a wave, you feel the "oh shit" feeling and then things start to escalate, there's a peak and then it starts getting better.
The worst part (for me) was the utter conviction that
something was really fucking wrong with my body, that I was having a heart attack or something. Telling myself over and over (in my head) that I was okay, it was just a panic attack, just keep breathing normally and it'll pass soon, really helped.
