Supposed to be stronger at Flat bench than Incline Bench?

Now you know two people! Me and spywizard appear to have the same issue with incline vs. flat. I think Im just going to stop flat benching all together and just incline. I'll save the flat bench for close-grip tricep work.

yep, i dont do flat bench at all anymore, too hard on the joints as well, incline, cross cable and decline give and keep a good chest geometry.

hah i guess so. I've always thought it went decline>flat>incline. Have you always done more incline work than flat?
 
to my knowledge it is rare to see someone out incline there flat. but that could be good. i personally like incline more but am stronger on flat. both put a lot of pressure on my joints if i dont keep perfect form.
 
I'm flat out stronger on incline as well. I don't have time topost right now but it has to do with shoulder design. I'll elaborate more tonight.
 
My flat bench it's 225 and my inclined bench it's 225 too. I must be unique. I always feel more comfortable on inclines, for some reason I have better acceleration on reversing the movement at the bottom, it's like my shoulders were meant for these, I'm very long limbed so my inclined will still be mediocre, I'm not giving up though.

lifters that are shoulder dominant have stronger incline bench numbers. flat bench requires less delts. more pecs/tri strength & its easier to cheat:biggrin:
