squat stance?

I am just wondering how far out everyone puts their feet when they squat and what the benefits and negatives are of going narrow or wide? I lately have been going around shoulder width and I have been able to go much heavier but I am not sure if this good or bad for leg development?

Everybody's body mechanics are a bit different. Personally, the most stable platform that allows the best lifts is feet around shoulder width or wider, toes angled out a little bit. Other than the ability to handle greater loads, minute adjustments in stance don't affect development.

Squatting with a wide stance will allow you to push greater weights. Uses more hips, glutes than a shoulder-width stance, which puts emphasis on the quads.

I think that's right ...
