Your pick for a $30k out the door coupe

Josh wasn't at all interested in the Subie. I like them a lot, but it's his car though, so his choice. He got CVT Altima. We both were biased towards a manual, but it turned out to be very short throw and he had a lot of trouble differentiating 1st and 3rd. Plus the clutch take up was pretty abrupt and he kept breaking it loose on take off. The CVT was actually pretty sweet. Snapped off super fast, but not overly hard, shifts and did a very good job of managing the torque on take off.

After a week in this Altima rental car, I'd take a Civic over it any day.

I hope Josh enjoys his new car, but the 2.5S sedan hasn't grown on me one bit.

Infiniti G37 would be the uber bomb, but the monthly payment just too big. You'd have to go back three MY's to find one under 30k OTD and with acceptable (20K) mileage. Even then we're talking APR in the high fives at 60 months which runs the payment over $550 a month. Just too much unfortunately.

In related news, actually I just drove my aunt's 2011 7 speed G37 yesterday evening. OMFG so fucking sweet. That automatic rivals Mercedes. Very, very slick. The last 37 I rode in was an '08 Josh test drove a month ago and though it was very nice, the new ones are a whole nother level of awesomenity.

I have the 11 QX56. Sometimes you forget you are driving in a car. If it just wasn't for the fuel issue - it is a thirsty bitch.

cuz it's built in Messico :mexican:

j/k

Fusion is a fine auto!

I drove it for two weeks before I realized it was a fake stick-shift as well. My Jeep was a manual - I was pumped to find this out. I'm a smart girl mostly - but whoa, I missed that.

fake stick

going from a Jeep to a fusion is a hell of a switch

were you looking for better economy?

btw, HR drove a Fusion :)

nice

actually I went down in fuel economy - I went from a Jeep Patriot - 4 cylinder, to the Fusion SE - 31mpg to <25mpg. I was looking for a smoother ride ;)
