Your pick for a $30k out the door coupe

My husband is finally going to get his first ever nice car. The man's ever had anything but hoopties. After a fair amount of looking my top suggestion for him is a Nissan Altima coupe SR. His credit is good enough for the 2.9% 60 month financing, which was pretty much the cincher for me. It has good power and nice exterior design. Interior is still a bit low rent looking, but much improved for Nissan.

He's not dead set on a new car though. It could be up to 2 MY's old, as long as it meets the out the door price limit and doesn't require premium gas.

Anybody have any other ideas, new or used?

Here's the one we're really eyeballing. Love the color. Crimson Black. $25,500 OTD

ok good suggestion. We hadn't even considered a Mustang. The V-8 is way over the price limit though. I just "built" and found a V-6 model though at a local dealer for what would amount to about $26,300 OTD.

Edit: Wow a nearly new GT at Carmax for under $27k. Talk about poor value holding. We might go check that one out.

We liked everything about that one, except the front. It still looks Korean from that angle. In other words kinda goofy. The grand touring definitely had a nice interior though. The brown leather, the quality of the plastics, all nice stuff. That one's still in the running.

i actually got on the ford website (before i answered your quiz) and built a gt with a 6-speed and the standard 5.0 litre and the price before tt&l was $30,495...i'll bet i could find one on a dealer lot and go out the door for under $30k tt&l included, and i wouldn't even have to haggle...plus, i kinda have a feel for what you like vehicularly-speaking and i took that into consideration when i suggested the mustang, on account of i'm kind sweet on you :)
