wtf is it with these terrible "roughing the passer" calls?

The problem is that they are now attaching conditions to penalties.

A touch and release is a 5 yard facemask, a hold is 15 yards.
A tackle to a QB between his knees and shoulders is fine, a hand to the head or a drill to the ground is a penalty.

It is becoming extrememly hard for players to remember these intricacies in the heat of the moment and its becoming increasingly hard for refs to remember and catch all these things.

This celebration bullshit needs to be revoked.

In the NFLs prime, hard hitting was praised....not penalized.

I seriously do not want to watch football played by nancies.

I think it is still reasonably vicious and brutal.

I think the no-horsecollar rule is good. If youve never been horsecollared with your leg below you, you dont know what I mean.

I also think that the "leading with your helmet" rule is great. Theres no need for paralysis to be a common injury.

The call last night was well beyond horrible. The qb moved his head into a position where contact could not be avoided. It is equivalent to someone smashing into your car...and you getting the ticket.

other than clearly intentional spearing, all these helmet contact rules are shit.

the NFL is too obsessed with preserving qbs - most of them don't win shit ever and don't ever get any better...

maybe if some of these old bastard qbs got hurt every once in a while some younger QBs could get a shot... and more talent would develop...
