It seems Jesse died of a heart attack after doing high rep squats.

Remember last September when I dropped after a set of high rep squats and went to the emergency room? Those things are murder.. Tests found nothing wrong with me. I had vertigo for 3 weeks prior and still have it, although that's an inner ear thing.. I thought I was possibly about to die... I still don't go all out on legs.

Fuck this sucks he was a really cool and genuine guy. I had the priviledge of meeting him two years ago.

RIP Jesse,

Wow dude glad you're ok, did they tell you what happened???

wow!!!! and marunde, if I'm remembering him right..........was a really "in shape" looking mother fucker...........what was he? 270-280? lean as fuck................that is NOT the guy I would think would be keeling over.................fuck!!!

Man, that is terrible. I hate to say it, but I really don't think weighing close to 300lbs is easy on anyone's heart. That's a lot of volume to pump blood through.

Wrong guy

just read through those threads pretty sad..

all these peeps that are huge dying from early heart attacks is pretty much getting me scared to use aas for a long period of time..

lots of bodybuilders/wrestlers and now a strongman has died recently from apparent heart attacks.. has to have something to do with juice.. or maybe hgh?

Hell yea, I had the opportunity to be 270 and I'm 6ft for a summer juicing hard and it was fuck in hard on my body to maintain that wt. I did not feel comfortable till I dropped down to 240 again.
Now I understand and appreciate cardio a lot more than I did in the past.
Looking at these bros being my height and close to 300 lbs is fuck in scary

yeah, well don't you think maybe that might have something to do with it?
i dont disagree, along with bodyweight and whatever factors contributed

ive seen Jesse twice @ 2 fit expos in Pasadena. he was very cool w/the crowd. I thnnk every guy that stopped by the Met-Rx booth that day took a pic w./him- a really nice down to earth guy.

this is so sad... its pretty freaky that he actually posted this workout on his site the day before his death :(

It's not that surprising really, his heart probably just couldn't handle pumping that much blood through him since he was to big/strong for his own good.

I'm still lifting big though, I'm pretty sure a natural lifter can't get that much muscle mass to poss much of a threat to the heart.

For someone to literally drop dead after exercise at the age of 27, I'm guessing he had some type of genetic defect that went undiagnosed. Time will tell.
My condolances to his family. R.I.P.

Crap, I'm close to 300lbs. :worried:

Why don't all you vultures stop fucking speculating and wait until more info is available. Jesse was a great guy and I feel for his family.

You're just as bad as the fucking media: Steroids blah blah blah, too big blah blah blah. If you don't have something good to say or condolences why don't you keep your trap shut.

That sucks. I've met him at the Arnold several years ago. Decent guy. RIP.

One really needs to watch out for heart disease if he/she has a hx of it in their family and they're using large amount of androgens for years. Seems pretty likely to be that the hugely increased androgen levels greatly accelerate the heart disease process.

A related fact I know from having had family members with heart disease is usually they are more severe when they strike younger people....something about the body making more arteriols or something as we age, so when there's a blockage in a major artery at least some of the blood can still get through.

i'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or disagreeing with me here....and I don't know anything about the guy.....but....being someone who's used gear, I'm not sure why everyone is quick to poo poo the idea that steroids may have caused this guy's death, when it's entirely possible, if not probable.

and you know, i'm not condeming the guy for it, he can live and die how he wants.

This shocks me. I worked out with him a couple of months ago, he was teaching me form on the olympic lifts. Took me out to breakfast, really good guy.
