workouts for lordosis

New member
I have a lordosis and usually my lower back gets a bit stiff/hurt while being in the same position for sometime (sitting or standing). If I move a little bit it helps.
I should be training (a lot) my lower back and abs, or should I???
I've tried to do so, though my lower back exercises have been a bit minimal. I don't like to do them (at all).
Any suggestions for training in order to help my "back problem"? And any restrictions for what I should NOT do!?!

the lordosis issue was recently discussed here on the board.. try the search button at top of the screen... you will find some movements & stretching for lordosis...hope it helps :)

My brother has lordosis and his orthopedic doctor told him that he needed to strenghten his abdominals and hamstrings while stretching out and increasing the flexability of both his lower back and hip flexors. Tight hamstrings can cause lower back pain and tightness. By stretching out your lower back you are lenghting the muscle fibers that are shortend. Also by strengthening your abs your posture will improve, your abdomen will start to become flatter instead of protruding out and your abdominals will help to support you lower back a bit better, causeing less tension and pain.

Hope this helps.

That's a new one!
I've never heard that hamstrings could cause lordosis.
I think it's (also) a bit genetic thing...
I'll try out your tips and see how it turns out. Thanx!
I think most of the reasons for my lordosis are not related to muscle shortness/tightness because I am pretty flexible (especially on the hamstrings)... But I keep on training/flexing my lower back and abdomen.
Love the abdomen workout! :-):alien:
