Every time I try workin out hung over, no matter have much water I drink after I still feel it in the gym from last night. Im not even a big drinker Ill have like 5 caronas in 2 hours.

It doesn't matter how much water you flush, your liver is still processing the alcohol from last night. Getting drunk fucks up the rotation, why is it so hard for you kids to understand that shit?

If you are on cycle = DON'T DRINK! Simple.

If you do, you're wasting your cycle and your development....

I definately don't when I'm on, rarely do I when I'm off. All I know is I have done it, and boy is it a painful thing. I used to have sunday practice in college after a saturday game. We'd all show up shitfaced and that run would be a good time.

Oregon bitches are fukin ugly, bunch of hippies I moved here from chicago, HUGE DIF. Im off cycle If I drink its once a week if that. On cycle the only thing I drank was GHB, I think im just gonna go do some cardio, cant hurt.
 
I always feel much better after a workout when hungover. Just sweatin that shit out helps a great deal.
 
Work out, even if you are hungover.
This is the truth: I normally have some difficulty in sleeping. It gets a much bigger problem when I use gear.
Then, alcohol helps. I know that alcohol may help you to go to sleep, but it disturbs the sleep pattern and you would have disturbed sleep.
But answering your question: water does not help. Alcohol makes you pee, and makes you dehydrated. Drinking water would help there, but not with hangover.
If you are hungover, do workout, it would definitely make you feel better.
I had no problem in bulking just because of alcohol. I don't think it had much effect in muscle tissue.
Again, I am not saying that you should drink, I am just answering your question.

lol ... I have never worked out hungover in my life. And I have had many hangovers before, lol. Not so much these days. Sometimes, I was out of the gym for 2 days even. I dont go to the gym unless I can give it 100%.
 
Yeah, I’ve trained with a hangover in the past, when I was young and stupid! But I do remember that it did seem to help more than any other hangover remedy with of course a “greasy spoon breakfast” to follow :)
 
I always do my best by drinking a ton of water and then doing medium intensity cardio the next morning to build up a good sweat. I don't know if it's truly possible but I feel like I sweat out hangover.

arent there non-hungover days where you feel like you cant give 100%?

I made it a policy that I never miss scheduled workout days, ever. It has a rebound effect, because I dont drink if I am lifting the next day.

No matter what my condition I go in there and hit it as hard as possible.
 
If you are getting badly hung over off just 5 beers that sucks. But theres a simple solution. Leave a gallon of water by your bed and before you pass out drink at least half of it. YES AN ENTIRE HALF GALLON! This will reduce the hang over feeling by at least 75%. Immediately after you wake up drink the remaining half gallon then go pee for 5 minutes straight. Then take in some type of how GI carbs with your breakfast, such as a glass of OJ. You will feel much much better after doing this.
 
I rarely frink. Get drunk mayde 3-4 times a year. I may have a Baileys and coffee or maybe some wine with dinner if I'm out with a woman or female friend for dinner. I'm not against getting plastered every now and again, but I'd say don't bother working out the next day. Cardio maybe, later in the day if you're up for it. If I'm getting drunk. I know the day before there will be no workout the next day, if I do have one scheduled. And if I do, I usually know at least a week or so in advance (Only drink on certain planned occasions), so I switch my workout day anyway.
 
I won't lift when I'm hungover but I might do cardio because sweating makes it better sometimes.Another thing I have recently learned is that taking sleeping pills really screws up my workout the next day. I worked out feeling all groggy and I couldn't lift shit I also almost injured myself as well.

Exactly. I don't have any scientific evidence other than feeling better after sweating my ass off. Maybe it's got something to do with speeding up your metabolism so that your body processes and evacuates the alcohol faster. Who knows, but it works for me. I'll do 45 min of stairclimber intervals followed by 10 min in the steam room and then a nice long shower. Abracadabra....all better. Although, it takes everything I got to get my ass to frickin' gym.

Even if you facilitate the body's sweating out of the alcohol, your body is still catabolizing muscle while you are doing this. Getting that drunk halts the anabolic process and puts your body in a catabolic state from the getgo, so in effect you might be sweating out the alcohol, which is good, but you're still burning the candle at both ends. Basically you're fucked when you get that drunk in the first place, so don't do it or face the consequences....

I used to drink a lot in the 80's and it hurt so bad to have hangovers. Haven't had a drink since 1986 and can't even imagine how much it would hurt at 45 years old.
 
If you get a hangover off 5 beers you really should quit drinking or try switching beers. When I drink I usually try to keep it to 8-10 beers of something light like coors light and don't get a bad hangover. But I only drink on Saturday nights because I have Sundays off and I only do light cardio. Stay away from liquor that shit gives horrible hangovers.

I'm a recovering alcholic so I tried everything at least once, hell I would get wasted at night and have to drink vodka and OJ for breakfast then 3 forty's of malt liquor at night. It was the worst blur of my life I've ever lived! I still shouldn't drink but i only drink the 8-10 beers once every month I finally got control of my problem! I quit drinking and started working out and realized there is a lot more to life and now I feel better and a lot healthier every day!

I had some periods in my teenage years where I did the same thing. I was drunk for what seemed months at a time. Sad really, I'm just thankful I snapped out of it.
 
IF i remember correctly, alcohol after consumption inhibits protein synthesis for up to 24 hours afterwards, this means your body is not going to be building muscle up to 24 hours after drinking alcohol, especially if you drank enough to get a hangover. i think its prety dumb and pointless to lift hungover, seems to me like your working backwards, nice physique though, your lookin good, but honestly, lifting hungover will more than likley only do more harm than good. take a nice long walk somewhere just to keep your body active and not storing cal.'s g/l bro keep workin

That's why I dont' workout the day after. Shit...depending on the night I won't be able to function for about 2-3 days lol
 
i usually just drink while i work out it helps with aggresion. i start bumping into the weight racks and starting shit, " you lookin at me youi dumbbell". and we all know that your stronger with beer muscles.
 
No way. It just makes me feel worse. No amount of water or food helps. For me, I think it's a combo of getting older (42) and working out, but alcohol stays with me a long time. I can have a couple of beers and be fine, but one drink with anything hard (I love tequila) and I can feel it in my system for at least 2 days. Since I've been taking my workouts much more seriously, I've just about given up all alcohol.
 
You pussies need to drink every day because then you wont get hangovers. The reason Excidium gets hung over off 5 coronas is probably because he doesn't drink that often. Relax, you teetotalers! :)
Your hangover should be gone before the end of the afternoon. So, take a power nap in late afternoon and when you get up, go work out. I was wondering why this thread was still around. A poll on whether you work out hung over???

no groggy with ambien, and shit no to workout hungover, don't drink. It fucks you up
 
ALA helps a shitload. I usually take about 600mg-1800mg depending on how much I drink. It is a lifesaver.
 
I used to drink like a fish in highschool. Now I drink about once or twice a year, and always regret for a couple days after.

Drinking slows progress. I'd rather smoke some herb or pop a pill.
 
i don't drink, smoke, or pop pills, so i don't know what it's like to work out hung over.

i swear to god if i die earlier than the excessive drug users around i'm gonna be one pissed off chinaman. stupid anti-drug lobbyists.
 
i dont, because for one i usually have a pretty bad headache so therefore i cant even like get out of bed yet alone bring myself to lifting weights

If you're hung over don't bother training you're wasting your time in the gym & breaking your body down even more.

It's best to take a day or 2 extra off from the gym or do what I do & not drink too much or if you do, do it Saturday night as Sunday is a day off from the gym.
 
Hung over workout? Ive done it. I like to consume alot of water and food before i go to bed drunk. I helps me fell better in the morning. Wake up eat a huge breakfast take a massive shit and youre ready.

A big shit helps me probably more than anything. I don't know why, but a lot of pain just disappears afterwards. A nice hot shower is good too. Oh, and Aleve really works well for hangovers for me. No other pain reliever even comes close to Aleve for hangovers (for me at least).
 
I stay pretty fit and strong while drinking heavily around 4 nights a week. I don't really get hungover from drinking because I always make sure to get a few liters of water down before bed and also a good protein-packed meal when possible. I've worked out hung over before, it's not really that big of a deal. You just have to learn to push yourself a bit.

As a caveat, I'm young and reckless so I probably won't get away with this forever.
