Damn, wtf were they thinking?

Everytime I create a short cut on the desktop or try to pin one to the task bar, it lasts only until that window is closed and then *poof* gone.

I really miss My Computer icon on the desktop too, have go through start menu on this OS. piece of shit it is. yes.

You can get a "My Computer" icon on the desktop by --->right click on the desktop and choose "personalize" ---> then choose desktop icons in the top left hand corner..

Also you can download a program called Rocket Dock (free). which is pretty cool for stuff like that and get it to auto hide..

i still use and love xp on all my machines.

classic start menu and all.

Windows 7 is just Windows Vista with 95% of the bugs fixed.

The catch is, when you start with 1,000,000 bugs, fixing 95% still leaves you with 50,000 problems.

32 or 64 bit? Always go for 64 bit.

It ain't perfect but HELLA lot better than that Vista piece of shit. Can't believe MS is charging for Win 7.

sounds like a bad install
do you have discs?

I'm still using XP. I have one puter with Vista and hate it.

I'll never use 7.

why? Don't hate 7 because of the resource hog Vista

I have three computers
Xp home
XP pro
and one with Windows 7 Ultimate and 2005 XP Media Center Edition (dual boot)

While I still like XP, after using W7 for 8 months on my laptop I can attest that it's far superior to XP. Once you get used to Seven, XP feels and looks like a welfare OS. Just my .02

It's not that.

Another thing is like when I go to download pics, let's say like this

1 - See PM from Letto with new bewb pics
2 - Right Click Save As
3 - W7 opens up in Libraries window
4 - click and search until I find folder called Bootiful Bewbs
5 - click SAVE
6 - Done

But wait.... 'Letto just sent me another PM with bewb pics...... (don't you wish you were me)

1 - Open PM
2 - Right Click Save As
3 - Windows 7 opens right back up in fucking Libraries window. fuck that shit.

XP would automatically open up the last folder you used to save a pic in. W7 you have to search for the fucker every single time.

64 bit drivers are still sketchy here and there, as is backwards compatibility with 32 bit programs.

If you're a PC it's best to avoid vendor rigs altogether and customize one yourself through newegg, tigerdirect, etc. That way you can have everything the way you want it, without all the bloatware, at a much better price.

Versatility is one huge advantage PC's have over proprietary commies like Apple.

A well configured, properly setup, thoroughly maintained PC with mature software drivers that's fully virus scanned/protected runs practically as well as a Mac right out of the box now.

Is that sarcasm, or did W7 caress your balls like it did to me?

win7 makes me believe MS may overtake Mac OS in terms of stability and usablity within my children's lifetime.

I'm 37, so I'll never live to see it.

You are so smug, and old

Bah! I'm 42. The 37 number was still reeling in my head from a previous post.

Fucking port wine gets me every time! It's clearly time to go to bed -- I've got an early start tomorrow too!

The banner gods have shit upon your head child. You have offended them greatly.

I was one of only a few people using XP 64-bit on a daily basis. I used it on all my machines and loved it. The 32-bit versions just didn't give me the performance I wanted out of my hardware so I went to XP 64-bit and never looked back, I used it for a couple of years with no problems... In time though, I was forced to make the jump over to W7 since Microsoft would no longer supported XP 64-bit. There were no patches or updates and I was still using SP2 since SP3 never came out for XP 64-bit...

I have to admit that I really like W7 right now since it is very fast and makes the most out of my hardware. It looks pretty and performs very nicely and smoothly...

There are onyl two downsides:

-Some of my programs, torrents and cracked-ware no longer works. Some installs require the editing of files that W7 just won't let me edit and Firefox has become almost useless, I'm down to using Chrome and IE.

-I have seen the blue screen of death about 3 times in six months of use, compared to 0 times with XP in 6yrs of use and 30 times with Vista in 6 days of use...

Haven't had a blue screen yet, but you run more aggressive apps bro.
What's your beef with FF?

I am having the same problem with IE.

Windows 7 turned my IE into shit. I can use it ok for a while, then after a couple hours the navigation buttons at the top (back/forward arrow buttons) will not work. I can click them 20 times and nothing. Clicking links will not work. The Home and Refresh button will not work... have to reboot PC all over again to fix it and then it is only good for another couple hours.

Haven't had that problem with firefox yet.

Which version of IE are you using AAP? Anything except for 8 is a POS.

If you're having issues, you may want to update your drivers, or your install of Win 7 may be affected and you'll want to repair it.

I run Win 7 64 bit on my main comp and Win 7 32 bit on my laptop and have had virtually zero problems with either. Everything runs smoothly and very quickly.

I'm a web designer/developer and a pc gamer and every app I use work great for me.

I use every browser you can think of ( and more ) for testing purposes and they all run perfectly. (Though, I haven't benchmarked them and compared them against other OS's.)

Microsoft takes no responsibilty for n00bs trying to use their products. Win 7 is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

And which version of Windows does not suck?
Is funny that every time Microsoft comes out with a new OS, the first comment people make is "it sucks"; but still, everybody use it anyways. No, they do not suck. They are awesome. If they suck, invent a new one.

But people buying it still doesn't mean it doesn't suck. For evidence I submit the next movie Sly Stallone makes next, Big Macs and Survivor CLXVII.

I and my wife love our hackintosh. It takes a bit more thought, and proper prior planning to keep things running smooth as a real Mac. But, Snow Leopard is such a sexy bitch. Whose this skank 7?

Any latest thought on WINDOWS 7?? I was thinking of trying it until now.

If you got at least 3 gigs of DDR3 RAM, you will be fine. Once you get used to the slight differences and visual look, you will love it. I won't go back now.
