will there be a cure

No, there will NEVER be a cure. Why? because there is no money in it. Drug companies would never release a CURE for such an EXPENSIVE EXPENSIVE virus. It cost thousands to control per year, per person. Why would they want to stop that?? ITs sad, but its reality. Same goes for cancer, even though there are NATURAL therepies that have an amazing 80% sucess rate for ALL cancers. But the FDA would NEVER EVER alow them to see the light of Day, NEVER EVER.

there already is a cure most likely but pharma companies look at it from a buisness perspective are they gonna make more money curing someone or selling them tons and tons of meds for the rest of their life its very sad but it is the truth

no i think there will be but i think it will be a biological cure, i dnt think pharmacy's will make 1 as every 1 has said all thy want it money thy not intrested in something tht will give then no money, the body is extremly powerfull i belive soon some1 will cure it from there body some how some way, its like tht new research thy found that some people immuine system send out a t8 cell which stops the hiv virues ever becomeing aids, and i think bcoz hiv is spreading so fast that there is becomeig alot more attetion on the subject ie, more research on it and so on,

i think we should keep up hope.......

with the current antiretroviral they do keep the HIV+ incubation part of the disease under control for years to the point where if a patien complies with there medicationt hen they could die of natural causes rather than aids related diseases. the problems is that the side effects of these drugsa re so ahrash that a lot of people justa re not willing to comply witht he mediaction e.g. constant sickness, diahrrea, disiness, blackouts. From what i understand the way that medicaiton of AID is going is that they are tyring to develop medications that dont have such bad side effectsa nd then this would have a major effects on a persons quality of life

Secondly to that they are also (supposedly) working on a vaccination just liek the influenza (flu ) jab elderly peoepl get every year the influenza virus mutated just as rapidly as the AIDS virius it just measn they would have to be constantly changing ti which is good for medical companies as they make more money

so will there be a cure- no

will there a vaccination- i would have thought so who the hell would have thought we would have a vaccination for flu

the vaccination is possible as drug companies will still make billions if not more as every body under the sun would wan tit so they dont contract aids thus meaning that more than simply those effected would need medication

I believe that if ever a cure is found for any major terminal illness, unfortunatley, noone will ever know. There is too much money in the "treatment of these illnesses industry". If there were a cure, billions of $$ would be lost in treatments. Magic Johnson is technically "biologically cured" the doctors can't find HIV in him at all, right?

HIV is not man made. It's a simple mutation from the SIV virus which affects chimpanzees. Many viruses mutate in order to jump the species hurdle. Influenza (the flu), for example came from birds (not just the recent bird flu....all flu varieties).

Unfortunately, a total cure is not likely. HIV is a very small virus, and it hides out in many places in the body. It would be difficult to engineer a medication that can get into all the same places HIV can reach. Also, some cells which HIV infects are slow replicating cells...which means that some cells can replicate and produce new copies of the virus several years down the road.

The best hope right now is in the form of gene therapy. In the future it may become possible to modify a person's T-cells in such a manner that they cannot be infected by HIV. A person would still remain infected with the virus, but the immune system itself would become largely free of infection. That would allow the body to control the HIV infection by itself without medication. The infection, however, could still be passed from person to person, so the rules of safe sex would still apply.
