Will HGH help heal bulged discs?

Hey guys,

I did a search and didn't find what I was looking for. I have two bulged discs in my lumbar spine. I'm 38 and am thinking about going to an anti aging/sports doc to see if HGH will help heal the discs. Has anyone had any experience with this?

You need to have a Doc look at it before taking measures into your own hands.

With the serious nature of your injury,,I would tend to agree.
Let a doctor check you out. I'm doubting HGH will help you here,,
possibly after surgically repair it could be beneficial.

I've been working with a few different docs for about two years now. I've been through the X-Ray's, MRI's, Epidural Steroid Injections and even wore a back brace 24/7 for about 7 months. I've improved but the healing is very slow. On my current course I'm probably looking at another 12 months before I'm able to train and race (cyclist). Anyways, I'm just looking for ideas on speeding up the process.

I have been though this, and have the hardware in my back and neck to prove it. The docs at the Mayo Clinic told me that HGH would not effect the discs since they were ruptured and the "jelly" that was/is inside them couldn't be put back in and the rupture repaired by HGH. They did tell me though that there are studies going on now at Mayo testing low dose HGH and speed of bone fusion on post surgical cervical or lumbar fusion patients. They indicated that those results would not be available for review for at least another year.

That said, they have been using low dose HGH on hip replacement patients and have seen about a 15% decrease in time of bone fusion to the prosthetic hip.
