Ya know... I wanted to post on a recent thread where a newbie was getting his ripped open...
I understand the need to educate novices... that's why they're here... most of them will heed good, solid advice and not argue... so there's no need to berate them and be down-right rude. They're gonna have uneducated questions and notions... some of them will seem completely idiotic... that doesn't warrant name-calling and tearing them to pieces. How does that help? It just makes them resentful and not willing to come back to a place where *SOME* good info still floats around...and then that causes more problems for the A A S community in general. We're here to help each other... let's start acting more mature here...

Yes, it indeed can be couter productive. When ever someone makes a mistake it should be looked upon as an opportunity to teach. However, berating ppl doesn't leave a whole lot of room for dialogue. Nor is it conducive for learning.
That's one of the sadest things in the world, when the ppl w/ all the knowledge lack the personal skills to convey their message. Then no one learns a thing. Better to lose an argument and gain a friend/student, then to alienate everyone around you to the point where no one listens to you anymore!

just my 2cents and I can handle the bashing and give it right back when needed but boards can do without it and it is the job of the moderators to instill respect from the members or ban there ass..

This is actually becoming quite a neusense. You gotta search through an entire thread just to find some actual help because so many people have nothing better to do than rip on the person asking the question or the people that are actually tying to give some input. I really hope that some of these threads are a joke because god forbid the person actually inject a fina pellet into his ass and actually need some help, because he isn't going to find it here just get made fun of.
its all about being insecure. a person feels so insecure about themselves that the only way there able to make themselves feel better is to tear someone else down to there level. the sad fact is that will only make a person feel even more insecure about themself. if they would try to lift someone up instead of tearing them down they would lift themself up in the process.

I like having the ability to flame at will. Other boards require that members refrain from flaming or hurting newbs feelings. Personally I think those boards suck cuz we've gotta spoon feed the newbs the basics. This means less posts of usuable 411 for the more advanced guys that could truly benefit from the real life experiences of vets. This is the kind of information that requires more than just a google search to attain. The same can't be said about what compound to run for your 1st cycle. That standard 411 can be found just about anywhere so why should we be hassled with giving out 411 to guys that are too lazy to find it on their own. Retard Alert!!! Ding!!! Ding!!! Ding!!! It will also become stale and boring. People will go else where for the info. Growth is an important aspect of all businesses and this board is no different. No new members = no new platinum memberships.
I realize that indeed some of the questions are pretty stupid, however, a little respect and common sense in the flaming department will make this a much better place for everyone.

I see both sides of the spectrum here.
There are some really stupid questions that are asked on a daily basis that could easily be answered with minimal research without starting a new post.
But I also understand that everyone is a noob at one point and many of the questions that I now think are stupid I myself asked at one point in time.

If you own a computer you can get most all your basic questions answered.When I started there was no online forums to go too! You had to make an effort to find answer to questions and any mouthing back would have resulted in no more answers.

The older guys and more experienced guys usually will recognize a joke for what it is....sometimes it gets lost in translation, then next thing you know what started as a wisecrack turns into an all out war......

It is everyones job to protect a source (especially your own) until that source is confirmed busted, scammer and then called out upon confirmation with a mod or someone who may have better info......just because someone does'nt return an e-mail after an hour, keep cool, PM someone with more info
Try to get perspective on the situation........here's an example, especially for you guys that have been around gyms all your lives:
When you see a guy doing 21's in the gym (especially curls)......if you saw ONLY the first 7 reps you would laugh and say "what an idiot....he doesn't even have full ROM"
You leave.....get a drink of water and see the next seven, and still think the guy is an idiot.......it happens all the time....if you don't have perspective, you don't have shit...

I personally feel newbs respond better to "tough love" as opposed to some candy assed response aimed at not hurting their feelings. Sugarcoating everything will only make them more persistent in their lame o board inquiries that could be found in .07 secs with a google search.

Yes, there are alot of lame ass questions. However, if the board becomes a place where ppl are afraid to ask questions i would submit that, that will become a bigger issue. For example: Some kid gets flamed doesn't have the confidence to ask anymore questions and end up not having all the answers and gets himself in all kinds of trouble health wise. It is precisely a lack of education that give ass a bad rap.
While you may not consider yourself a "guru" you may well have the oportunity to become one. The trick is getting ppl to listen.

1.do not for any reason say things like "this site sucks" "this site is a peace of shit"
"I hate this place" or any thing like it.......
its this simple get the fuck off the board if you feel that way...
if you have a complaint then make it,but if you are still here and making a complaint then I would think you still want to be on this site right...so that dont mean the site sucks or that you hate this place it just means there are things you would like to see deferent,or things you would like to see the site fix.....
if you talk like you dont want to be here then admen or mods might take you at your word and make that happen for you real fast....so think about things before you say them...every site has its good and its bad.we all have things we would like to see change but that dont mean we can go bashing the site...

The problem is that when a thread goes downhill often insults etc get quoted and to clean the thread up not only is very time consuming and once we start the clean up we take a look at it and low and behold it snowballed and even more is posted. Then we have to decide to leave it or delete it and if we delete it that causes people to start posting more threads saying "What the hell happened to my thread" posts so those get deleted and more spring up to replace them. To prevent that we can take time to PM the thread starter and explain what happened only to find out that when its all said and done 3 more posts just like it popped up. Its like shoveling water with a pitchfork at times and why rely on people to simply be nice and helpfull or dont say anything at all.dn_tkd said:
