but you asked a question that seemed rhetorical and had the potential to perhaps rub people the wrong way

dont get me wrong. people sending you negative kharma with various profanities in them are not good, but when i read the question i could see the thread going this way.

it automatically puts people on the defensive, so the retorts are likely to be quite snappy and ever so quickly the thread would degenerate. i by no means think you did anything wrong by voicing your opinion but i think you should have expected some of the responses (not all, some were uncalled for i.e. kharma messages etc).

Let's consider the responses from the guys who insisted that they were indeed humble and upstanding men:

"I will flame her ass to charcoal, cock-sucking bitch"
"What crab do you have crawling around in your pubic hair?
"I shit on your soul"
and don't forget The Wit and Wisdom of Fonz.
Et cetera!

And Danielson who spent the whole post telling me I deserved this--though IT DID NOT BOTHER ME--you know what? Fuck you. I did NOTHING WRONG HERE. I said nothing rude until they continued to come after me, and then I just most quoted them to themselves--that was flame enough.

I really doubt the adversarial comments in buksoons original post would have had a negative tone were it not for all the extremely ardent female bashing on the board. Some people are sensitive. My opinion is that women should be sensitive or their child rearing skills will suck. Kids need good momma's since so many dads suck. So buksoon had her feelings hurt a hundred times and accidentally retaliated. EVERYBODY does that whether they plan to or not.

I even started a thread with apologies to the women on the board and got exactly one vote of support. I dispair of this world...sigh.

yup. I agree with you, Test boy. It seems women who post here with a modicum of intelligence or reasoning ability get slammed heartlessly.

Kinda like when Jay Leno interviews strong women, he gets defenseive and weird, even though he is otherwise funny, light, and entertaining. I witnessed this when he interviewed Judge Judy, the star of GirlFight, Geena Davis and a host of other less docile, less male-pleasing types of women.

I don't agree or disagree on the subject...perspective is everything on this matter...if you have done AS you feel differently about them and there is probably some prejudice toward or against them. There are heavy, solid arguments for both sides.

People, not just men, find women who assert their intellect to be threatening, and possibly masculine.

And we talk bad about other societies that put women down. We are also afflicted with the illness.

Note to buksoon, you really owe it to yourself to read musclebrains post about being subscribed steroids a while ago. It was awesome.

I can fully understand a persn questioning the wisdom of roids given all the hysteria propagad by the media and others. I avoided roids because of those stories and now wish I would have tried them and gotten them "out of my system" years ago. I feel a need to try most everything and I do most everything balls to the wall. Even did HGH and insulin and clenbuterol my first cycle which consisted of dbol, equipoise, test suspension, test enanthate, and a bombs. Very complicated yet very effective cycle. Had a hard time just getting back to those levels with my second cycle which was smaller and simple.

i just took the time to say you should have expected some negative replies but nothing on the level of the filth that was typed and you decide to hurl those words at me. absolutely charming. all i was trying to point out is it wasn't as if these people jumped up and decided to flame you as potentially anti-steroid threads have been posted and answered civilly, so SOMETHING you said must have been construed in the wrong way.

do some research into stigmatisation in society. guess what. it makes people defensive, when the whole of society has this image about them which may not necessarily be 100% true. it has been shown time and time again in teenage preganancies, inter-racial marriages, religious beliefs. yet i point this out and you flame me

Irony is: I agree! My soulmate on these boards juices. My adoration for some of the guys here--who admittedly take AS--could not be deeper.

When you post here, and you are known as female, you would do better (meaning, get a more positive debate), if you phrase questions in a less provoking matter...which I realize is probably not what you want to do...

...or at least learn to ignore those who can't understand a 'provocatively posed' question, and get pissed.

I enjoy this board immensely. Even the people who flame me personally sometimes bring up good points in other threads, and I have learned quite a bit from them...even if they make complete asses of themselves while they are flaming me...

In fact, in these past weeks, I have learned how to be just as provocative in REAL life, but less threatening, by writing here frequently and digesting the responses.

Your mother's advice about picking your battles sounds just like mine. The difference between us and our mothers is that we tend to enjoy the ruckus created by our questions. We enjoy the danger of pissing people off, or so it _seems_ you do.

I don't mean to come off as an 'advisor' or whatever...you may have read my threads and hate me, too...

...but whatever you think of me, you are going to be successful in life because you ASK the question without FEAR of the answer...or the reaction. Please continue. The folks here who are pissed at you are not only pissed because they disagree, but because you make them uncomfortable in their assertions. 'Cognitive dissonance' comes to mind.
