Oh, and one other thing. People need to realize that a lot of cats don't act "naturally." Kittens that have been taken away from their mothers too young generally ain't "right" and 8 weeks is cutting it close. Problems set in when these very young, impressionable animals go into households that don't know how to treat them. Cats who have been neutered far too young or declawed also run the risk of neuroses. You cannot judge the whole cat population by these animals, either. Declawing a cat is the equivalent of amputating human fingers. You deprive them of their primary weapon and also a way they perceive and manipulate their world.

But since most people don't know how a cat "should" act, they judge the entire cat population on animals that have mental or behavioral aberrations. That's just not fair. It's a shame that there isn't a "Cat Whisperer," maybe people would wise up a bit. Unfortunately, it doesn't make for good t.v. A cat that has been traumatized is pretty much angry or fearful for life and rehabbing them takes months or years, not hours or days.

you do have to groom the buggers alot if you dont want cat hair all over.

Having said that, I'm a true dog hater.
dogs stink, they lick your face, then are supremem high maintenance require multiple walks a day, you can't fuck off on a long weekend without them. people bring them in their cars all the time only to make for a digusting dirty vehicle full of dog stink and dog hair.....kill them all in a acid bath.

And Red, all dogs fart, doesn't matter how well you feed 'em, they fart. They are also like children in that you can't leave them alone for more than a few hours

Well, men fart all the time.........you get down on your husband for that? It's natural. Shows your digestive tract is doing it's job. This shouldn't be held against dogs. In fact, the reason some of them fart as much as they do is because humans just can't resist feeding those cute little adorable eyes when they're eating. That's pretty much the one thing that annoys me senseless about dogs.......they don't have that "off" switch to know they're full. So they just want to eat and eat and eat. Apparently, this is medical fact.......if you were to put endless food in front of a dog he would eat till he dies. There's just something about that strikes me as wrong. Some self preservational gene has been bred out of them somewhere. I mean voracious lions even know when to call it a day and go take a nap to sleep off the bloat. What other animal in the world, besides humans........can eat itself to death? So it's humans that won't stop giving dogs human food on top of the dog food they already eat that make dogs "farty".

Dogs may be man's best friend, but cats are man's best ally, never fucking forget that. The only reason asshats hate cats is because cats are solitary hunters, ergo, they did not evolve body language people find instinctively interpretable

not sure I agree with that. My current cat is sort of an enigma, he's old though so I"ll cut him slack. But my old siamese cats let you know what they wanted when they wanted it. And not in an obnoxious way. The current feline occupant though was always an entitled spoiled little shit. When he didn't get his way "immediately", he did something destructive. None of the other cats did shit like that........him, I had to put in the shower on a couple occassions. It just depends on the animal I guess.


Dogs, on the other hand, due to their pack nature, really have no adaptations for interactions with us, their interactions are pretty much instinctive, and it is we who are responding to them.

I've always said that if an alien were to observe dog/human interactions they would probably mistake which species is the dominant one. On the other hand, observe human/cat interactions, and they would assume we were peers or partners

Yeah I'm not so sure about that one. I know that when there was 3 cats in the house one would feel like a doorman/bellhop/waiter. I fully expected one of em one day to develop vocal abilities and summon their "housenigga" verbally.
