Yes. I went through a divorce. It was tough, but at least I could do all the legal work and my ex and I didn't fight over how anything was divided up.

been through 1. the process was a breeze itself - no court, no kids, no battles.

the getting over her was a little harder.

Sucks to go through.

Keep one foot in front of the other. Make progress on it every day, even if its just swapping asset lists or discussing how to divide property. Focus on the process -- not on the personal issues involved. Also, avoid doing anything dumb like drugs or too much alcohol. A lot of the negotiations over assets and alimony are wars of attrition and booze and drugs only drag you down.

When its over and done, you'll be numb for 1-2 months. Just wade through them, then go apeshit crazy for a few months (or years) before you even consider a serious girlfriend.

I know it sucks, but hang in there.

there was a formula that I learned back then

for every 4 months of marriage it would take one month to "get over it"

seems to work for periods less than a decade
 
i do lotsa litigation support/forensic accounting work for divorce attorneys. . .but i've never been through the process myself. . .

that sounds about right--i think the second year was the worst.

been their twice, the first one was very tough, second was easier, and now im bout ready for this one 2 get gone, i might miss her for a couple days. its hard too ever put all ur trust in another marrage after you have been burned a few times.
 
It does suck.........or deciding if you should get divorced is tuff too.........I might be the next one on elite to be getting divoced.......definitely a tuff time.....Im still trying to work things out though...........good luck woot
 
My spirit is crushed. I cried like a child for the first time since I was 18. I loved that woman so much.
