ive tried this variation before but honestly it felt just like a manual leg curl..hard to push from the toes..i think its really hard to simulate a ghr without a ghr..

I agree as there is no toe plate. The feeling is much different off a g/h. You get more of a complete contraction. I never really felt my hams until I trained on one.
