What's reasonable as far Gym prices go? Any Austin Bro's?

Whaddup y'all!!!

I've been working out at my Universtiy gym for a few years and haven't had to pay for a membership... I went to Gold's and the fuckers wanted to charge me like $250 for an initiation fee and then like $30 a month... I mean, I can deal with the $30 a month... but $250 down...

Is this normal? Any bro's from the Austin area know of any good gyms that won't try to fuck m in the ass without KY like this?

I have worked at a few gyms, if you talk to the right person they will wave the start fee, especially if you sign on for a longer period.

i go to golds, it was $150 down, then $30 a month, but i only pay for 10 months, then get the last 2 free. at least i think.

wait till they have specials, you get great deals with no money down.

that sucks, that $250 probly goes strait to that little membership fuck, who gets you to join.

seriously...he was such a greasy little fucking fat ass...

If you can, get a quote from elsewhere that doesn't have an upfront fee, then return. They'll be much more likely to waive it to get your business.

$30 for Gold's Gym? That's much cheaper than around here! Although they didn't ask for a setup fee, the small Gold's near my house quoted me close to a $100 per month. They have many more members than they can handle so that's probably why they're trying hard to not get any new ones. The local Nautilus is about $80, and they don't even have a single pound of weights! The local hardcore gym with lifting platforms, trap bars, up to 250# dumbbells, half a dozen power racks, and bumper plates along with an Olympic pool, 1/4 mile soft-surfaced track, three basketball courts, etc., is $105 per month. Needless to say, I've bought my own equipment and don't go to a gym. For a $1,200 per year Gold's membership, I can buy a lot of equipment.

They'll cut the initiation fee at least by half since they frequently have specials that offer 2 for 1 or 1 at half off. They also try to throw some personal training into the startup fee, be clear that you don't want any.

Probably best to talk to the manager, since the sales staff more than likely will get a commision based on how much they squeeze out of you. If you're ever going to use the downtown Golds, make sure they throw in the "with parking" membership so you can use the garage, otherwise it is hard to find a space anywhere near the place....
