What made you start bodybuilding?

Hey guys, just wondering what it was, if anything that made you start bodybuiding.
For me i think it was due to what i watched as a young child. Always used to watch HE Man and can remember the first time i saw Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator. I'm pretty sure thats why I started, how about you?

Well I played sports before and during high school so I lifted for those... But ther real reason I kept wit hthe lifting was because I was a pretty fat kid and teenager until i was about 17-18, and I loved how I felt while working out and I loved what it was doing to my body, aesthetically. It made me more enregetic in everything I did as well as feeling good about myself and the way I was beginning to look.

YUM

I started training b/c of football, I did play runningback at a D1 college-I was more into bodybuilding and stopped playing football-I got up to 290 in college, a little bit large for a runningback.

My father was a bodybuilder, had one hell of a physique and pound for pound was one of the strongest mo-fo's I have ever known. He outlifted the biggest gargantuans in the gym.I always idolized him as a kid and wanted to be like him,so when I turned 15,he took me out and showed me the ropes.I couldn't imagine life without training now.

I started training cause I was close to 25%bf and was always a little porker as a kid.. I just want to see my damn abs!!! The underlying reason would be to get more girls though..

My old man was a BB and a stong mo fo, Sclaradema struck him down and made him go from 225lbs to 75lbs when he died drowning on his own fluids.

Before he died he told me, take care of your body and mother. I could careless about my mother so I chose the other advice.

I went from a 145lb geek to a 185lb dork now :)
My goal is to reach his max bench of 350lbs in his honor.
