From the first date my wife got my sense of humor and gave it right back, thats a huge plus in addition to the other traits that you find out about later on. She's strong, independent, brilliant, caring, sexy, not clingy, not needy, not selfish, somewhat vein (which I like, shit this is a steroid forum how am I not too).

Probably easier to list what she isn't than what she is. She's everything i've ever hoped for and still surprises me to this day.

i asked my wife out on our first date 20-something years ago (ok...it was oct 17 1989) because she was beautiful...face like an angel...that was the only reason i asked her out...didn't know her, but i saw her face and thought "omigod, i have to ask this girl out"...if not for that face, i never would have asked her out...period...and i'd be married to someone else now.

Ummm, not quite, I mean, that's part of it but I'm talking absolute honesty. Don't ever lie to me, not even to be nice or to keep me from getting upset. It drives me utterly bugshit because I can read 99% of people like a book and if you're lying to me, I know. I may not know WHAT the lie is, but I know you're not being honest (this only works face to face, BTW).

For example, I'm not one of those PITA women who nags you about "what are you thinking" or shit like that, but if I say "What's eating you?" I expect a direct answer (since I never ask that question unless something IS bothering you, anyway).
