Some good suggestions in the thread, beyond looks and looking to personality I think being down to earth is something I naturally look for in a girl, being deep enough to hold a reasonably intelligent conversation helps too.

right, this used to be one of my biggest when \I was in the dating scene. A good conversationalist, they can be intelligent, but not overly so. They just "get" the art of having conversation. It's not 'I talk for 30 minutes and you get to knod your head, then we'll switch." It's, I'll go, then you, then I go again and maybe expound, then you take it and give more info", back and forth..... It used to seem like that was SO hard to find....
