luckily i have a home gym so i dont deal with anybody because typically i dont like many people...especially people that talk to me while i work out

Agreed, headphones are basically a sign that I do not socialize. A courtesy wave or what now to say hi or a quick 30 second catch up with a old friend but other than that, let me just do work and let go of everything else in the world for 2 hours.

ya I do the headphone thing as well. It doesnt always work though, theres always that one guy that seems to not care and will try and talk to you anyway. O well, it is what it is. I cant imagine being a PRO, im sure people talkin to you in the middle of a workout gets old real fast.

so if someone is interested in what youre doing, and they ask you for your advice on it without even trying to talk to you for that long thats rude??

Clearly you're not interested in making friends or helping anyone but yourself. I wear my headphones when I work out, but I'm not going to ignore someone tapping me on the shoulder when I'm resting to ask me something........its flattering, really.

There is no harm with answering a question orgiving someone a quick information session between sets.

And frankly, if I trained at your gym, I would be happy that you train alone at home.

Always critical of form. Nobody in my gym seems to know what a proper squat or what a deadlift even is. Benches are almost always full though. You can tell the guys and girls who are dedicated and who ate respectful. They are always working hard, have good form, and respect the gym and it's equipment.

i would never interrupt someone during a set. and if i do talk to someone i make it quick. but if someone was interested in what i was doing and wanted to know about it or ask for some advice id be more than happy to help them out. standing over someone talking while theyre lifting though is totally different and unnaceptable but its not what i meant.

CLEARLY your right sir. I go to the GYM ON MY TIME to HELP MYSELF get bigger. im not there to help anyone else, and I could care less about making friends in the gym. I dont go there for that s***. I go to be bigger and stronger.

HOWEVER, IF someone does talk to me IN BETWEEN sets, I dont mind and am very friendly and sincerly try to help the person. As long as they dont tank it overboard and start asking me everything there is about working out. A quick question doesnt bother me. But I dont go there to make friends or help others, your right

Form over anything really, my training partner thinks he can do 40kg dumbell bench when he actually does half reps, makes me want to train by myself even more

I'm mixed on this. I don't mind socializing a bit or answering legit ques. but there are people who babble on and seem to forget you're working out. I had a drunk guy wander in the other week who just started talking to me about bent over rows. this guy who was a fraction of my size proceeded to start lifting the warm up weight i was using w/ poor form and became a pest. After a minute i told him to try it w/ lighter weight and let me do my workout. He apologized and wandered away , did some curls and left.
