What are the essential supplements yall use?

All,

For those of us engaged in strenuous physical activity, what supplements would you consider essential and critical for optimal performance?

Currently I take:
Whey Protein
Fish Oil
Multi-vitamin

Vitamins, fish oil, and whey post workout. The same as you. Most others are basically useless. This is not a statement I make lightly. I mean, research, or basic nutritional knowledge tells us they will have little or no effect, and today it is more expensive to be on 3 or 4 of the "best" suppliments than to use a moderate amount of steroids year round.
 
alright sweet, thanks for the input...I cant agree more that food and water are essential for anyone serious about training. In addition to my superb diet, Im going to try Glutamine and some bcaa and she how that goes.

I was watching some guy talk to fat ppl on PBS one day and he was talking up green tea so I gave it a shot...its good shit and apparently has some positive health effects. It really relaxes me so I take it right before bed.

Whey post workout, thats all I take right now.

Noticed nothing on creatine, I think protein powders are WAY overated, only using whey post workout forces you to get whole meals in instead.

Does anyone actually notice a difference taking multi-vitamins? I know everyone says you should but I can tell no difference what so ever, coming back from a back injury I have gained about 14kg of which only a few seems to be water and fat over the last three months taking nothing other than whey post workout.

I think that is about it. As you can see I waste a lot of money... but the placebo effect is awesome.;)

By looking at your list. . .it appears that I am doing a few things wrong. . I am neglecting a few items. . . you can guess for yourself lol
 
avena sativa and xanthoparmilia blow trib out of the water, though i use trib with it, and with nettle root and ashwagahanda (sp).
 
Maybe $100 - $200 a year, including the ones named and protein, creatine, and GNC Megaman.

About the herbs, I'm not sure how they affected free test levels but I definitely noticed heightened libido. I'm not sure which worked the best, but I'm leaning towards avena sativa. BAC has the powders pretty cheap.
