Today was just a fun day as they'll all be this week until I start another run next Monday.

So I just took the opportunity to try some fun lifts and stuff I haven't done in awhile.

Anyway, I'm not sure about my form - I try to pop my hips and not curl the weight up but honestly it's hard to say with only 60kg. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated. I may have to go heavier to force myself to use better form but unfortunatley I have some coordination problem jumping and pulling myself under the bar - I just can't seem to do it :worried:

And yes I do feel bad that those beautiful Eleiko's have to be subjected to a hack like myself :chomp:

'Hip Belt' Squats
90 x 3 x 8

I used my IM dip belt and strapped a couple 45's to it, then I stood on some blocks so I could get as deep as I could. Unfortunately the strap was digging into my legs when I'd squat down so that was distracting. The squatting part was pretty easy, though.

BW x 2 x 12, x 9

Wow my endurance on these sucks. I used narrow grip on the Vulcan racks and it was alright with just bodyweight.

Overall: Fun stuff, just trying to get some work in so I can start refreshed in a week.
 
Yep, but it's like having a date with Eva Mendez and taking her to Denny's for dinner, and then maybe a Pauly Shore movie afterwards.

jim, that's a muscle clean, not a power clean. wheres the speed? SPEED I CRAVE SPEEDDDD. looks good, just... fast fast fast!
 
Your point is well taken, I just find it hard to be fast with light weight but on the other hand heavier weight is hard for me to get under. Hell I tried the bar to warm up and I was all over the place.

I really need to remember to turn my radio down when I vid up.
 
That really wasn't as horrendous as you made it out to be with the build-up, lol.....it was by all means a muscle clean, but mechanically is wasn't too bad. You didn't reverse curl it, but you were just so slow bringing the elbows around, and obviously with 60k you don't have to do any squatting. It looked like you just got to the gym to clean and were warming-up. You're looking pretty thickly muscled too.....all that squatting is doing it's job well.

For bar speed, try taking an empty bar or VERY light weight and stand on your toes with your shoulders shrugged a high as possible, then right from that position pull yourself into a rock bottom front squat while you whip the elbows around as fast as you can, and try to make your feet stomp loud when you hit the bottom.
