The way I see blacks throwing the word around, I don't see a big deal in it.

If you're not a ghetto type of person, and don't mingle with blacks in that scene, then I challenge you to use the word around those types like it was just another word, or use it around any black person from any lifestyle actually, and report back with the results. Something tells me they will be less than favorable.

Around here (Bay Area) pretty much everyone uses the word...I shit you not I was at a party friday night and an asian guy greeted 3 black guys with it and no one batted an eye.

It's just another word here.
