TV Ads Say S.U.V. Owners Support Terrorists

that's a pretty ridiculous article. huffington is an attention-whore and the faulty logic that she conveys is quite prevalent. sure, the US imports oil from countries that harvest "terrorists" but the US also imports oil from alot of other countries too.

saudi arabia and iraq really have no other source of monies other than the export of petroleum so the US is really helping to contribute to the world economy which is a much greater good and a win-win situation to both countries involved. to the US, they get oil, to the exporting countries, they get to feed their people. if the US and other importing countries stopped buying oil from these exporting countries, what sort of economic ruin would they be in?
if she really wanted to help combat terrorism through SUV's, she should have made commercials about equipping the SUVs with SAMs.

And please don't lecture me on this "Americans have more than they need" garbage. Let me sum up my philosophy on that:
Do you make enough to buy an expensive gass-guzzling SUV? Do you want an expensive gas-guzzling SUV? Well guess what - the only thing you need in life is to be happy, and if that makes you happy, YOU NEED IT.

I fucking hate SUVs .... SUVs are far more likely to kill the occupants in the other vehicle during a crash than virtually any other car.

How many people really need those Escalades and Expeditions that get 10mpg? 90% of the people who own SUVs do not go off road..so they would be just as well off in a car..One that gets 30mpg.
These lemming SUV owners now use 3x the amount of gas as a person driving a car. Kind of wastefull right?
Yeah it's the peoples money and decision to drive these cars..but now that they are using so much more gas..3x the amount- they now create 3x the demand making prices already higher than they were. How much would our gas cost if we used 66% less gas for our vehicles? OPEC cuts production a few percentage points and gas goes sky high..
SUV's arent safe either. I drive a little import car that gets 30mpg. If i was rear ended by an SUV, its bumper would be in my rear window. Not to mention the fact that it is more than twice the weight. And most of the SUV owners think they're invincible in these trucks because they have 4wd and drive like assholes in Snow and Shitty Conditions. The last time it snowed I saw more accidents involved these SUVs than anything. Maybe they're safe for the drivers, but nobody else.
