I don't think it's about Americans buying gas per se. I think it's about Americans having infinitely more than they need. Don't know that I'd go as far as saying that it directly supports terrorism. However it does contribute to how the world views us.

Honesly, how many of us really need an SUV? Gimme a break. I'd like to see a study done that answers questions like:

When was the last time you put that thing in 4wd?
How many days out of the year do you drive that thing to work alone?

We are Americans. We are glutons. Right or wrong, we should at least admit it.

Seriously though, I drive a SUV because I can. I buy the gas, insurance, maintenance, etc. for it and it shouldn't concern anybody else.

Yea, I admit it, we are glutons but i will never let someone tell me how to spend my money. It's not affecting their lifestyle.

The issue I have with this campaign is their leaders are talking out of both sides of their mouths. Again, you lead by examples.

I never said anything about taking anyone's jealousy to heart or about lowering our standard of living. I'm as guilty as anyone in my Americanly glutonous and wasteful life. However I won'd be giving up my pickup anytime soon.

I'm simply suggesting that we admit what we are and maybe then we can understand how we are viewed by the world.

I saw those two ridiculous commercials, and those people are assholes... Guess what? I don't give a flying fuck how the rest of the world views us... They don't like us??? Fine!! they can go shit in thier hats and pull them over thier greasy heads... By thier rationale, if you use ANY gasoline whatsoever, you're at least supporting terrorism "a little". What a crock of shit!!! Do we Americans have more than we need?? sure we do, but that's the beauty of living in a free country and being industrious enough and making our own choices, including deciding how much we want to pay for our vehicles/gasmileage... FUCK HER!!! I'm sure all her cars are electric right??? And I'm sure she travels in an electric plane right??? That woman is just another tree-hugging piece of shit with nothing better to do than rag on people for any reason they can find... I drive a truck, but to commute back and forth to work, I have an economical car. Does everyone that has an SUV NEED one??? Of course not, but it's THIER CHOICE, and no one should accuse them of supporting terrorism because of the car they drive getting better or worse gas mileage. That's just stupid. I know a lot of vehicles (cars) that get WAY worse gas mileage than our SUV's... Yet they're not being singled out, are they??? fucking idiots....

They were truly enlightening about how these so called leaders live. Huffington and some other woman whose husband is a producer or director in Hollywood are leading this thing and one of the excerpts from the article said that Huffington opened her eyes to the SUV phenomenon and she traded her Lincoln Navigator for a Toyota car. WOW.........sounds totally American to me. What about you?
