As long as you're going full force in the gym!! I'm just trying to figure out ppls shorthand for their different exercises. I don't even know what half of the things I do are called anyways.

Lol d... They are shoes. They are super cool and I have wanted them forever! They are a part of the whole barefoot running phenomenon sweeping the U.S. haha. You should google them if you get a sec... I got the Bikala LS pair... They are so wonderful! My bday is 10 Dec. :)

How do you like the shoes?? I've been seeing more and more of them and my son brought a pair back from London for himself....I've been considering some.
 
They are wonderful! They feel like they were really made for my feet! I have used them for training, and loved them. I'm going to attempt taking them for a run later today..
 
So cool!! Let us know how they are for the run...I never even thought of running in them!!
 
Well, I went for a run in the 5 fingers last night, and I have to say... I feel like I have fallen in love all over again! I have tried so many times to move from heel strike to midfoot strike.. Even spent $175 on a pair of Newtons. And got nothing but hurt more... These shoes do not allow you to land anywhere other than where you are supposed to... Unlike other shoes made to move the runner away from heel striking, these shoes have no heel, so you don't have to teach yourself to do it, you have no choice ... They are really amazing!!!
 
So today was shoulder day... Didn't feel too great going in... My whole body was sore... Started out with Standing behind the neck ohp, and almost broke my wrist on 135 lol... Got it up for 5, but it took two tries...

From that point my wrist hurt so bad I had to wrap it just to continue...

125lbs for 5 on bb upright rows
35lbs for 5 on db lat raises
90lbs for 5 on cable face pulls

Now I'm in bed hoping my wrist stops hurting lol

Good lord snipers hope your wrists ok girl has this happened before? I used to have loads problems with weak wrists so I bought gloves with great wrist supports they seem to have fixed it, great workout chic !
Snipers the shoes sound amazing I never seen them in the Uk I have two pairs of rifts I love them, think I might invest in a pair of these bad boys! Lol.

D... No it's never happened before... I threw the bar up, and something just didn't feel right. It's hard to turn it, and I would prolly break my nose if I attempted a push up lol. I'm hoping it will start to feel better... Soooooon!!!
 
After 4 Advil, 2 wrist wraps, and a tiger balm back patch, I made it to the gym... I wrapped them tight, and said a little prayer...

90lbs for 3 on ez curl bi curls
55lbs for 5 on ez curl reverse curl (I thought for a moment that I had broken my wrist lol)
35lb db hammer curls for 5
90lbs for 5 on cable curls
4 sets of resistance band curls to finish it off

Started my vibram break in schedule today too... 7 sets of 2 min run 2 min walk...

Came home and made homemade red velvet cupcakes with homemade cream cheese icing!!! Feelin a little sad... The hubby got to his new base in Astan and found that there was no Internet in his room :( hopefully it's fixable, cuz 180 days without seeing his handsome face could kill me :( fingers crossed!

And that the cupcakes made you feel better they sound delicious . Also I'm thinking that sounds like may b a tendon or ligament either way you just be careful girl sometimes working through injury makes matters worse ,
I have weekends off I was working last night done two gigs done black stone cherrys and alter bridge I had never heard of either but enjoyed them lol. N e way hope things sort thereself out soon for you.

I got up 450 for 5 on leg press
155 for 10 on kneeling squats... Could have really piled the weight on, but my back wouldn't allow me to lift it off the rack for my hip flexors and glutes to take it from there lol
50 for 5 on kneeling iso ham curl
90 for 10 abductor

I skipped calves and crawled to my truck lol my calves are still shot from the barefoot running! I'm guna start eating clean tomorrow and try to make a crazy transformation by June when my hunny comes back! Wish me luck!!

Hey ladies! My thanksgiving was fine. I slept all day! Well almost all day. I did get up to run in my new shoes lol. How was yours?!? He officially has no net in his room so I haven't seen him since Thursday :( I miss him so much it really stinks...

The story of how we met is so sordid lol. I wouldn't trade a moment of our past for a future with anyone else. We have actually only spent about two months physically together in the past three years... It doesn't seem as bad when we can at least see each other on cam... But this is brutal... ESP during the holidays :(

O well enough of me whining...

I did my monthly(ish) cheat workout tonight...
155 for 3 on flat bench
145 for 2 on incline
95 each side iso hammer strength seated press for 2 (and now my daughter owes me $2 cuz she didn't believe I could lift it and bet me a dollar a rep... I should have pressed a few more out lol)
135 for 5 on pec dec15 measly push ups lol

Then took the kids to the Christmas light show and stood outside in the 35degree rain for them to get a pic with Santa! They owe me big!!! :D

Hope everyone had a good Monday!

Wow a light show there amazing get me right in the Christmas spirit. 35degree is that the temp over there lol were lucky this year ours is 8 last year at this time the country came to a stand still for two month it snowed and don't stop at first I loved it until I had to miss work because of it lol.

My daughter is 9 and my son is 5. My ex and I have shared custody and we each have them a week at a time. On my weeks, they come with me every day/night to the gym. They love it! The only bad part is they are always telling their friends...'my mommy can lift more than your daddy' etc lol! Kids... Gotta love em!! ;)

Got up 150 on standing behind the neck ohp for 3 (personal best)... I just have to figure a way to get past that awkward movement from the rack to my starting position. I actually had to use two boys at the gym to help me... I asked... What do you guys do to make it less awkward?... Their response... As they diverted their eyes.... Um I've never done that much weight before lol... O well....

Did a set of 15 military press with just the bar to get a pump then finished with 35s for 5 on lat raises...

Besides being behind the head, what is the difference between behind the head OHP and just OHP? Just curious if they work different muscles.

In my case, the front of my shoulders are pretty well developed from other push exercises like bench, etc. Taking the ohp behind the head engages the rear delt and traps . They both work the major shoulder muscles tho...

Snipes do you know a way of working those same muscle groups(rear delt and traps) without doing ohp behind the head? My shoulder is so tight it won't allow that movement.

Shoulders are my best part to build I love shoulder day. And Snippers I think your right as since I started u r row I noticed the difference.

D I think you will continue to notice a difference with the rows... I have always been embarrassed of my shoulders... Always thought they looked like boy shoulders cuz they're so big and so are my traps... But my hunny thinks they're sexxxy, so I am starting to like them a little too lol

I have been on the IR for the past few days and it's driving me insane! I hurt my back pretty badly and can't really um walk right now lol

I made it through the work week without cheating on my diet! I was so impressed with myself, but now I'm in bed like a big baby prolly getting weaker and fatter by the minute :(

Everyone be careful in the gym!!!!!! Just sayin ;)
 
I think your hubby has the right idea a chic with big shoulders looks great I think a girl that puts a lot into looking great days a lot bout there personality same for a guy too !

My diet ATM is a bit less strict as I need to up my cals for 5x5 but I think at this point any extra size either fat or muscle is power to lift. Zed says its ok if I gain a little fat we can sort it later.

I remember you saying you had a back injury that sucks your back effects your every day life I think your so brave that you push on through you tough!!

I have back issues too. Four degenerative disks and two herniated ones. At my age, 38, I am happy for what I have. I can't dwell on lost capacity. Instead I am happy to get to the gym and do what I can. Interestingly, it made me find new ways to hit things and that has helped my progress.
Don't get down. You will be back!
 
Thanks everyone! I have some degenerative and bulging or slipping something or others lol. I was supposed to have spinal fusion surgery a time or ten but refuse! I am too young and too healthy to even think about back surgery! I put my mind to it and learned to deal with the pain... But when I can't move, I can't move lol.

I may attempt a workout tomorrow, but promised the hunny that I would let myself heal... I'd run a marathon with a broken leg if I didn't have him to talk some sense into me ;)

I am REALLY avoiding surgery at ALL costs! This whole lifting thing is hard for me to regulate... I spent my teens and early 20s as a model, so I wasn't allowed to have muscles lol i was only allowed to have skin and bones... now that I can do what I want with my body, I am a little obsessed and have a very hard time turning it off... even when it hurts...

My biggest fear is that I will see all the things I actually have time to do when I skip the gym, and never want to go back lol.. my hunny is FAR too hot for me to be anywhere but at the very top of my game ;)

We had one here too. It was great! Kids everywhere! Pancakes everywhere, kids were making faces with them lol. Gym was covered. It was worth the clean up though since the kids had so much fun!

LOL. I don't blame him...I'd wanna take a spin in it myself!! Absolutely love that car! One of these days I want to get a Chevelle or a GTO. Love some old cars!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get one!!

My favorite has always been the 1969 Dodge Charge 440 six pack. The fact is there are so many cars right around that time that were amazing. Some day I hope! I LOVE the old Shelby Cobra's too!!!!

Ok so I finally made it to the gym after being off since I hurt myself Thursday lol. Still in a lot of pain, but I can walk so life is good ;)

Did a light chest workout... Nothing impressive... 145 on flat bench, 180 (total) on iso hs press, 150ish on pec deck...

But I am happy to report I did 4 underhand pull ups and 3 overhand lol I'd still rather do flex arm hang for a couple min :D

I was going nuts hearing about all the pull ups lol! Man if I ever hurt myself so bad I can't go to the gym anymore, I am living vicariously through the rest of you!!

And btw, do I get a handicap since I have like three ft of legs to pull up?!?!? Lol

Today is my pull exercises so I'll be seeing what and if I'm doing to be doing with pull ups. I'll definitely be doing them but now I have so many ideas!! So hard to choose from!!

Again awesome job!! Btw..I don't think you need any handicap!! You'd throw my butt under the bus any day...so with me..no handicap!! Lol

Jen we will have you pulling up before you know it chic. One thing I will mention make sure you super warn up prior to them I twice pulled a trap and that pain kicks ass and puts a stop to training!!

*I completely tore my pec off the bone earlier this year.
I still can't do wide grip body weight pull ups either. I'm slowly working my way to it.
My goal is to be able to do both well again. Goals are everything if you are working towards them!

Aww thanks! My biggest goals are to get my squats to 200lbs and blow my hunny's mind when he comes home in June... I figure one should follow the other ;)

And um ya ouch that sounds painful!
 
Still no gym.. Have lost 10 lbs already :( I know part of it is due to the clean eating, but I feel like my muscles are shriveling up... I think it may be time to see a dr? Or at least a massage therapist? I don't know how to fix it and it is really frustrating me!

Snipes been following your log an i am impressed, your dedication shows, sorry about the injuries, i had a knee that bothered me for over a yr i got lucky and found this product stopain.com it really works i no longer have to deal with any pain,i really suggest you trying it (get the spray). Good luck to you and keep up the good work!

Thanks! I actually made it to the gym tonight. I've been at the leg press since I got here... Only thing I'm not too scared to do... I will try that stuff cuz I'm really miserable at this point.. Nice to have you in here :D
 
I was really scared to lift anything so I hit the leg press which I thought would b a safe bet... No issues...

Then hit the kneeling iso ham curl.. Since this one leaves my back unprotected, I did 5x10x25.

Then finished with 5x10x140 on the standing calf raise.

I know it's not much, I'm just excited I accomplished something in the gym at this point. And I didn't even hurt myself! ;)

Aww thanks... My legs r the weakest in this forum! I just brought my squat up to my bench last month, and can still shoulder press more than that lol. Wait til u c the other girls' leg numbers... Put me to shame!

My legs are only just getting there now my squats only at 65 k (143lb) that's not to good but hey what we lack bottom half we make up for it top half and also knowing where we need work is the fist step to improvement.
