Weighted Dips+202lbs bodyweight
+37.5lbs 4x6 - relatively easy

17th March 2003

Weighted Dips+202lbs bodyweight
+40lbs 4x5 - felt somewhat heavy - CNS was caned from yesterday

Most recent max-testing:

Bench Press: 242.5lbs x 1

Deadlift: 297.5lbs x 1

Didn't test my squat. My adductors were playing up and I had to prepare for an indoor soccer match, rather than risk further aggrivation.

I've only been squatting and deadlifting (well, lifting properly) for the past 6 months or so, and even that's been broken up by breaks from lower-body work because of injury. My bench is comparatively high because I've trained my upper-body for about 3 years, but only properly for 6 months.

i rarely train shoulders directly like that. my shoulders seem to grow well enough without that working them would make me look funnier with my smaller arms attached to them.

Seriously,
Try hitting your shoulders hard for a while jesus..... I swear to god it creates the hugest illusion that my arms are significantly larger than they actually are!

March 18/03

Rack Deadlifts from below the knees
2x5x340
1x3x340 <--- Tryed to rest a second or two before the forth reps and too much lactic acid pumped into my back... could have done it but would have been more strenuous than my kneck could have taken...

Wide Grip Chins
2x8xbodyweight - Had never even gotten 8 until last week for 1 set
My third set I hit 8 too but the last rep was almost completely assistance driven.. lol

I'm gunna keep Rack Deadlifting until I get to 405 for sets of 5 and test my conventional Deadlift strength then.... Give me until the end of summer... it will be mine!

19th March 2003

PowerClean 205lbs x 2

Did a double of my old 1RM :)

First rep required minimal dip to rack - just to absorb shock - otherwise pretty much with straight legs.
2nd rep was 2 inches lower - had to dip to rack it.

Thanks - soon 2plates - 225lbsx1 :)

20th March 2003

Supported Rows - Wide Palms Down Grip
(just plates - don't know how much the bar weighs)

82.5lbs 3x5

Ahhh, the wonder of wing night...

Last night I polished off 24 chicken wings and 5 perogies @ 11pm...
The fruits of my eating labours showed up today in the gym..

Last week I had difficulties getting up 145x5x5 on militaries...
This week, 150x5x5 went up like NOTHING... SO EASY... I'm excited.. I hope the weights keep on going up!

So todays PRs were

Military presses 5x5@150lbs -- PIECE OF CAKE!

Close grip chinups 2x6x bodyweight(200lbs)+25 -- Never done weighted chins until last week.. these were tough.. but definitely interesting

JM presses 3x8x165 -- I think my weight on these is going to go up really quick.. I just started doing these recently.. should be over 200 in no time!

Todays workout was amazing... I love training shoulders these days!

Flat bench 210lbs 2x8 1x6

Military press 100lbs 4x12

deadlift 170lbs 4x12

Squat 220lbs 3x10 ; 240lbs 1x6

Incline Dumbell hammer presses 30lbs 3x10 1x6

Close Grip Bench 110lbs 4x12

Standing bent-over Concentrate Curls 30lbs 3x8

Form is good

Also I should note that I dont ALWAYS get a perfect set, but if I do I try to get another sqeeze after a bit of rest.

Here's a weird one....

Old RM: 25 bodyweight pushups to failure
Last night: 40 bodyweight pushups shy of failure

This is after 2.5 HST cycles. I hadn't done pushups in forever, just figured I'd give it a shot. The pump was ridiculous :D
