why do you america basically rebuilt japan and helped give them all these resources to restore their country?

As was mentioned they even were given a clear chance to surrender after the first bomb...

They were in no position to be giving any conditions and as was also mentioned we took care of them afte teh fact, it not like we went in and took over the country for our own territory...

That 'dove' attitude just doesn't work in the real world...

And I do not believe the American government offers help just b/c it's "right", they do it for power and greed ie: helping those in Iraq who are poor defensless creatures...puhleeeze, the US is there to protect their interest in oil, plain and simple.
