my thoughts and experience about this.............
are the big guys really looking down their noses at you, or are you just imagining this?
after starting out at new gym about 3 month's ago, and working out at the same time for a few weeks, the big guys started nodding hello to me and talking to me. i was suprised to find that they were regular guys just like me, a little shy at first, and downright friendly after they got to know me. a well meaning compliment from me about their biceps or pecs or calves got them smiling ear to ear and flattered and talking my ear off about lifting, girls, cars or whatever else came to mind.
some of the really big freaks are just as shy or uncertain about themselves as you or i are, perhaps even more so. many guys start lifting to make up for social shyness.
after 3 months at this gym, some new guys are making the first tenative steps towards talking to me, asking ME about machines, or expressing admiration about MY calves or pecs or bis. who wudda thought??
it's just a matter of personal perspective, dude. everybody's a little shy and uncertain and intimidated at first.
nod hello or grunt out a neutral greeting a few times, and people will start talking to you. after all, we're all there for the same purpose--to pump up and improve ourselves.
