Tired of the gym scene

Yeah just stick with it. If you try to get a workout partner, obviously you need to get one who has similar goals and is not too far from your level. See if one of your buddies want to start getting in shape with you.

It may be a bit discouraging or you may be a bit emabarrased since you won't be lifting shit at first. But you will start to see results after a couple of months if you train hard. I remember when I first started working out in my house. After 6 months, I packed on 15 quality pounds, and that was with the same shitty diet of eating anything just like before I was lifting.

Soon enough, you will be sticking yourself in the ass and shootin' up testosterone, and watching yourself grow before your very eyes. ;)

bro sitck with it,you will grow soon enough,i started benching the 20lb dumbells for no mroe then 3 reps now 3 yrs later in repping the 60's for roughly 6 reps
and your lucky you have the big guys, there are about 10 big guys in my gym, just talk to people and be friendly you will make friends in no time who will help you

first time i walked into a gym i was 5'4" 111 ...it sucks at first but once you notice that your not-so-small anymore, and finally when your one of the bigger guys it feels oso good.

Bro nobody was born big and ripped, we all had to start somewhere.

At some point you will appreciate that atmosphere. It will help your motivation.

I don't care how big somebody is, if they are pushing themselves I get inspired. I don't care if its an old guy using 5 lb. dumbells, I can tell if he is working hard and I can tell if the big guy with the 50s isn't working that hard.

Don't fall victim to the embarrassment of having to use much less weight. I see lots of smaller guys using way too much weight than they can handle correctly. They cheat, they use momentum, they have their spotters do most of the work. As a result, they stay smaller. It makes me want to scream. Swallow that pride.

The point is to push your limits by overloading your muscles, forcing them to grow by slowing increasing the resistance above the level they are used to. You don't have to use huge weights to do this. Don't think about how much weight you can lift, think about how much strain you can put on your muscles.

The big guys will respect you a lot more if you use a weight you can handle to do the exercises correctly. If you start piling on more than you can handle, they won't be impressed.

i started out in my garage because i was scared to go to the gym and felt inferior. but man, it's not like that. everyone is in the gym for the same reason (i hope). your in there with the 230 pound guys, and your all there to improve your bodies. if anyone looks down on you then they're shit, so don't worry about them. good luck, get swole!!!

IF YOU ARE SEEN IN THERE CONSISTANTLY, LIFT WITH GOOD FORM, AND TRAIN WITH HEART YOU'LL BE FINE. DONT ACT LIKE A GOOBER, HAVE GOOD GYM ETIQUETTE YOU WILL BE WORKING OUT WIYH THE BIG GUYS, JUST GIVE IT TIME.

Like these others guys said, stick to it, and by all means, if you don't know something ask someone who looks like they do.

You'll see results and get more motivated.

Most of us where on the skinny side before starting lifting. I know at 6'2" and 160lbs I was skinny as hell, but now a few years later I'm at 200lbs and 7%BF. Patience and dedication will get you where you want to be. Train hard and enjoy it!
