:wavey: Here goes.....I've been lurking. I was looking for quick-fix. Obviously, it really doesn't exist. I'm 5'3" and appx. 160#. I've gotten round, to say the least. I'm absolutely disgusted.
I've never been into fitness at all. I've joined 3 different gyms over the years and maybe went 3 or 4 times each. I don't have the $ for the trainer and have no motivation myself. I've bought the hand weights and have all the dvds.

I have to start somewhere. I'm not sure if "bodybuilding" is the right forum for me but I'm not just interested in loosing the weight. Ideally, I'd love to look like you girls. I don't live in a fairy tale though. I have no idea where to start. I started taking E,C and walking at night. That always helps to get me started. Please don't laugh me off the board...I was thinking of joining WW to help too. I get very overwhelmed everytime I even think about changing what I've turned into. I'm bombarded by women's mags, commercials, etc.
Is there any more you need me to explain? Tell me you know where I'm coming from. HELP! I would like to feel a little better about myself by June. (just a little) :)

Hi girl! I gifted you a seven day trial of plat so that you can post more freely and search the forums. Welcome to EF :)

first of all, NO ONE will laugh you off the forums. There are many women here who have more in common with you than those who body build. What you will find here is a lot of women who know a lot about the kind of foods you need to eat and the kind of training you need to do to be the best YOU. Not what a magazine says you should look like, but what your genetics plus the right regimen of diet and exercise will produce.

Please also see this thread I started in girl talk:

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/girl-talk/body-image-issues-disorders-641572.html

Many people here have had issues with how they feel about themselves at one time or another. Please keep coming back and let us help you stay motivated in being happy and healthy!

Can you give us an idea of what you're eating now? Give a basic run through of your daily diet.

Hello and welcome.

With some reading and research, you can be your own trainer and dietician.

This section is dedicated to Women's fitness, so while the mods would consider themselves to be bodybuilders, it is because any time you work to put muscle on your body (which is what people mean by toning), you are building your body.

As you are new to training and ?a healthy diet? you will see rapid progress if you are consistent.

Hey Girlygirl, welcome!

Please post what you eat and drink throughout the day and we'll give you some nutrition advise.

Welcome to EF!! You will find the knowledge and amazing support here.
I did WW for 17 years before finding EF.
Good luck and ask as many questions as you can.
