Thinking of switching over to 1x per week

NYB, according to the book, very advanced athletes would benifit most from 1 workout a week, one exercise per bodypart, with extreme intensity, to extreme failure. The3 rest of the week you rest. He also professed that he could add 1\2" to a bodybuilders arm in 1 workout with out drugs. His theory was that athletes were working too often. Following 1 workout with him, then resting for a week after, he would remeasure, and theres 1/2 inch. It actually worked. But I wonder if it was more the workout, or the rest?
I said I use this method sometimes, and I do. I thing, though, it would fall under the catagory of deloading, or a lighter work period. Before continuing with a higher volume regimine.

So many fucking cliches. Do you realize you essentially made the same statement four times in a row? It's also the most abused claim in bodybuilding ever constructed. Sure, we have different genetics. It doesn't mean that the principles of muscle growth are changed.

So according to you, two people - not related - can go on the same program and make the same progress in the same amount of time, considering everything else is equal (nutrition, amount of rest)? Please

Been training 5 days a week emphasizing 1 bodypart a day for the past 3 years and i have grown a ton. Im sure at this point if i changed some things up, i may grow a little more, but i love training everything once a week.

Period.

I'm making the best progress on a 9-10 day schedule, altho each muscle group gets worked every 4-5 days the lifts are different for each session, its similar to DC's frequency & rotating routines idea. Working great for me...

I think DC had some pretty good ideas. The only issue I have is with his idea of rest-pausing, which involves going to an extreme degree of failure. This is very draining on the CNS. Throw in an extra set and you'd probably get the same effect, with no going to failure bullshit.

tom that's what I do, 2 sets with the 2nd taken as close to failure as possible (no forced reps or anything .. not anymore). R/P is so brutal if it's done right my cns never recovers

Yea your right.....my bad. It's not about finding what works for you(give me a break) I would love to see that one universal program that you speak of that will work for EVERYBODY!!
