OK I know who you are now.

I'm through with you. :)

You know absolutely nothing about me.

OK. you win.

But I know this:

You're just not worth getting to know.

So I know that this is the last time I will respond to you.

Carry on. Somewehre, someone cares.

Perhaps, I'm missing something. I understand that Walmart can greatly contribute to company's sales and increase a company's product's visiblity; but, if its affecting profit margin, then can't the company choose to raise its prices?

Sure, the net effect is that Walmart will drop it from the list, but the profit margin was dropping to an unacceptable level. The company can always re-brand its product as a premiere item and not a "cheap" Walmart item and find alternative sales routes.

Yes, it might be more visible as a Walmart item; but I would think the profit margin would be better with the alternative.

If the article told the whole story, you;d be right on.

By being a supplier;s largest customer, wal Mart foces suppliers to comply with everything Wal Mart is doing. Suppliers change their shipping schedule, procuremnet etc in order to satisfy their biggest customer.

This comes to the detriment of other customers, but those accounts are smaller, so the suppliers let them go.

Over time, Wal Mart basically controls the suppliers's operations, and then forces the proft margin down down down. Suppliers are hog tied bevcause they changed their operations to fit wal mart;s demands.

They can;t just drop their biggest account - their whole way of doing business has changed.

I think is a wondermous store!

And its swell that Wal-Mart is giving other companies the chance to hire those less fortunate in other countries.

They sell you the ammo to use a firearm. How you use it is not Wal-Mart's issue...

They also won't sell you cough syrup and sleeping pills at the same time. I saw a guy get rejected for trying to buy them. The cashier said it was company policy, but she could ring them up as separate transactions. Isn't how the customer uses their pills and cough syrup up to the consumer as well? My point is if Walmart wants to be everyone's protective mother, they should be consistent with it across the board.

Also, they won't sell music that contains "dirty words". however, they do sell DVDs that depict the actions spoken of in those songs with "dirty words". They also have no limit on the number of cancer sticks (cigarettes) and chewing tobacco they will sell. Basically, they're trying to push their right wing political agenda on their customers. I don't need a retailer to do that. I shop at either Kmart or Target instead.

On a side note, they stand for low wages, they have been known to force their employees to work overtime off the clock and they hire illegal immigrants to work dirt cheap with no benefits.

The hipocrisy is ludicrous. I don't need a retailer telling me what to buy and what's bad for me. I'd rather make those decisions myself.

Most Americans are working class. (median household income - $43K)

Most Americans are unedcuated (majority does not have a college degree)
These are the facts, and the same thing is true of almost all countries in the world.

Railing against outsourcing or offshorign is like shoveling shit against the tide. it;s never going to stop.
This I totally agree with. Do we want to be successful in the global economy? Then we better learn to be competitive in the global economy. There is a time and place for supposedly applying sappy and emotional christian morals to our actions in the global economy: corporate and government PR. In all other contexts I can think of, we better be competitive, or else.

Investors and stock-holders don't care. They want to see profits.

Walmart want to see profits
Suppliers want to see profits
Investors and shareholder want to see profits

Nothing wrong with this formula. Welcome to the global market.

And if your job got outsourced to Habib in India. Pick a better career next time.
Exactly! If your skills are not in demand, DON'T ask a company (or the government for that matter) to create "demand"!
