The Ten Biggest Frauds In Bodybuilding

I don't know about Bill Phillips being an outright fraud. He's got alot of peolple training and eating the correct way, who wouldn't be otherwise. He didn't invent the concept of eating 6 times a day or taking in 40% of your calories from Protein, Carbs, etc... But, made it much more attainable selling it to the mainstream public while making alot of $$$ in the process. Isn't America great???:D

Bill Phillips- The source who sold me my first cycle back in 99' gave me his copy of Phillips' World Anabolic Review. He told me to read it before I used. I must have read it front-to-back 5 times over that summer. The next year... Phillips came out with Body for Life... promoting his anti-steroid rhetoric. Made me sick how he turned from an athlete into a businessman like that. It didn't bother me that he wasn't pro-steroid any more. It was the pretentious persona he had jumped into to make money. In the last 3 years... I wish I had been given a dollar for each time someone asked me "Are you on Body for Life Scott?" I tell them the same thing everytime "No, I've NEVER let myself slide like those people. I have no need to make a transformation in my physique. I've always had this body."

SwoleCat- I've never used his diet. However, I consider him a very bright guy... and an AMAZING athlete. Sure, he gets pretty hot-headed with his haters... I would too though. I've corresponded with him a few times and consider him a class act. He's helped a lot of people.

Nelson,

with all due respect, can you please elaborate on the "bogus" supplements that TC is producing? i think it is quite clear based on scientific as well as anecdotal information that Biotest makes nothing but quality products, i speak from experience.

Biotest products are on the cutting edge, can you name a better post workout formula then "Surge?" can you name a higher quality multi source protein than "Grow?" can you name a better legal fat burner than "hot-rox?" oh and how about probably the single greatest andro product ever "Mag-10?"

TC has a site that is 100% free that has more training and nutrition articles in it written by some of the biggest names in the industry than all other sites put together.

By bashing TC you are also bashing all of the T-Mag contributors, such as Poliquin, CT, Pasquale, Waterbury, Berardi, King and many others. can you tell me any other site that i can go to to obtain such a wealth of diverse information? are you saying that these guys are frauds as well since they write for T-mag?

the thing that i find most interesting is that you are bashing TC and Biotest now that you dont receive a paycheck from them. did they make quality supplements when you wrote for them? or was it only after you left that biotest became "bogus?"

I find it very ironic that someone with an advertisement for a user profile is accusing others of being a fraud. now lets see if this gets posted.

This should be fun. btw. THe only thing Mag10 did well for me was receding my hairline and shutting me down. For that I paid 100 bucks a bottle. Cool.

naeblis, wow 100 per bottle, where did you buy it? check out dps nutrition. did you follow the diet that was outlined within the product? if it didnt increase your test levels (and therefore create an anabolic state) how did it shut you down? isnt the hair loss a side effect that is based on excess test converting to dht?

i know of numerous people that have followed the mag 10 plan and gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks, with at least 70% of those gains being lbm, and im not talking about newbies either i am talking about experienced steroid users. obviously not everyone will have these results. just like not everyone responds well to creatine.

im not accusing you of this but i hate when people that dont know a damn thing about training and nutrition use a product make no gains and then blame the product.

hell i know people who cant make gains on a gram of gear per week because they dont know dick about training and nutrition. does that mean that gear doesnt work either?

believe me i approach all supplements with a skeptical outlook. i do not trust unregulated companies with my money. however i think we can all agree that some of these companies actually make good products. in my experience biotest makes kick ass supps, above and beyond any other company. in an industry full of frauds, biotest is one company that goes the extra mile to make quality products. even if you never choose to use a single biotest supplement, their website alone is enough to make them a top notch company.

I made some gains. But in my opinion the gains I made were not worth the consequences. I lost my sex drive almost completely. And my hair went from being insanely thick to an inch and a half back on each temple. I should have done more research defintely. In this forum alone I would have found the info on what Mag10 could possibly do to me side effect wise. But I guess I was a fool for trusting that little pamphlet inside the Mag10 box that claimed no side effects. No hair loss. Well.. there was hair loss. After having spent a lot of time reading the last few months, I know now the side effects associated with lots of different supps and drugs. I just wish biotest wouldn't have blatantly lied about theirs. That's all. My fault for not reading up. Their fault for being less than honest.

Ugh, shut up.

here is a direct quote from Bill Roberts one of the people responsible for the formulation of Mag-10:

"5alpha reductase has no effect on androst-1-ene, so Proscar or Propecia will make no difference.

Nor does it have an effect on 4-AD. It does
have an effect on testosterone of course, but free testosterone levels remain unchanged while on MAG-10 (the amount produced by conversion of 4-AD must be about equal to the loss of production due to inhibition.)

It's not that MAG-10 has no effects on hair loss. Rather what I said was that it has no DHT effects on hair loss. DHT via metabolism to 5alpha-androstanediol has a specfically
adverse effect. The 4-AD component probably has no effect on the hair (none has been reported with Androsol.) The A1-E component probably is similar to Primobolan. Not "no effect," but "no DHT effect."

Although it's unproven, my suspicion strongly is (to the point of belief really) that an itchy scalp is indicative of having some adverse effect on male pattern baldness. That
can happen with Primo (generally considered "mild" but still some effect) so it's not surprising if it can occur with MAG-10 for some people. Hope all goes well!"

end quote...

so clearly my previous statements in regards to test levels and DHT were off base. however the point is that biotest did say that there is possible side's with this product.

i believe that anyone that is using any andro/pro-hormone product should already know that there are possible sides. it is the responsibility of the user to do the research. im glad you stated that you should have read up more.

I was naive for not researching I admit this freely. But their documentation with the product claimed no dht side effects.(which is what people think of when they think of hair loss) If they wanted to be completely honest, on their little pamphlet they should state while there is no dht effects, there is still the possibility of hair loss.
