I am trying to understand how it is that he thinks that his quality or quantity of life is greater than my husband's based strictly on age?

When my husband was his age he was jumping out of airplanes in some godforsaken jungle being shot at while the country he was risking his life for was busy being disgusted by the fact that he was defending THEIR freedom (or so that is the line of bullshit they fed him when they drafted him). My husband left home at 16. And he managed to stay out of trouble and never lived off of ANYONE.

And this snot-nosed punk has the audacity to think he's actually capable of doing something with his life.... "because he has a good body (now) and isn't butt ugly?"

Just the fact that he would be so rude to a board member who PM'd him their personal cell inviting them to call so they could see about hooking them up with A JOB in the state where that body lived.... that speaks volumes.

When Grump read that the kid was having trouble getting a job due to the fact that he had an arrest record he PM'd him his cell, asked what state he lived in. Turned out it is same state where he grew up and still knows peeps. Said that if he was serious about working he would make some inquiries and see about putting him in touch with some peeps doing construction. Didn't mean that he was guaranteed a job. It just meant that he would try to hook him up with people that were hiring if he wanted.

:rolly: I understand Christianity, in most of it's manifestations, perfectly well. I also understand sects of Buddhism, Hinduism, Judiaism, a bit of Islam. I have a simple philosophy, you need to understand something before you reject it.

I've read most of the bible, parts of the koran, various qabalistic texts, the i-ching, the tao, tantric and vedic texts, parts of the sephir yetzirah and own a copy of the zohar, but can't read ancient aramaic (it was a gift and the English translation is 32 volumes).

Unlike you, I understand quite clearly what I am rejecting. Christianity is a good start but it's far too limited for me. It's a simple religion, simple answers, simple book, narrow perspective with rules based on control through fear. I'm glad it makes you happy but it's not the only answer.

Now, c'mon, be a good boy and tell me about your childhood. Is your mommy pretty? Did you grow up feeling loved and appreciated? Did you have a good childhood?

It does not make any sense because he is WRONG. Yes, we are all forgiven of our sins, but to go to heaven we must have the Spirit of Christ inside us and to do that we have to accept Jesus through faith and repentance.

HE seems to think if he SAYS that he believes in Jesus thats all he needs, but he has to really believe it in his heart - if he was seconds from death right now he'd be scared because he knows he cant live the way he's living right now - and he knows it.
