Many *empires* disappeared after they dispersed too much and had to share their resources between too many fronts

i.e. The Romans, Napoleon, The Nazis in certain extent

I'm sure the war specialists have something to say about it

Historians have never been able to agree on the cause of the fall of the Roman empire, the death of genghis Khan, the defeat in Vietnam etc so I'm interested what the historians of EF think about it

The end comes when a country cannot decide within to defend itself (e.g., politics)...thus, it is the future for the US.

We have gone this way since the late 60s and it is steadily progressing, the internal battle in the US between the secular progressives and the neo-cons will bring us down.

I think it will be after we are gone, however it is likely that those of us that follow these things will watch it before our eyes.
