Rate threads, 5 star rating system - k awards for highly rated threads
Categorize threads, subscribed threads are hard to find with 1000+ subs
Thank poster option - not the same as k, useful posts with many other users using the "thank you" option may receive k awards
Karma tools:
Karma battery - a tool you can use to store multiple k hits, requires time to charge, able to discharge all k stored in it. A weak k battery may only hold 5 k hits, or a maximum of 500 k points, can only be charged once a day. Stronger k batteries may hold 50+ k hits, 10,000+ k points, can be charged more often. Plats, COTB members may get stronger or multiple k batteries, or can buy them at the k store.
Felxible k hits, 10% - 150%, two-tiered k system, ie: Plats don't loose k when giving hits or loose smaller percentage.
I would discourage red k immunity or k bomb immunity as a function, there is a reason why people get red k or get bombed, immunity would be open to abuse.

Notify - notify when member is online (members who don't want others to be notified of their presence can set themselves invisible)
Instant chat - chat with member
Friends options - donating k to people in your friends group should be tax free
