strained pec!

hey yall, I was benching last Sunday and I was motoring through 3x8 @ 225 on flat barbell bench and everything felt fine the 1st set. Then on the second rep on the 2nd set I really felt like I had pulled my left pec right were it connects into the shoulder (it felt like that area just got really tight...). But I worked through the nagging pain. I went in yesterday to bench again and it felt really bad (not joint or torn or anything, just real tight and like a 'soreness' pain). Anyways, any of you guys ever experience this before? If so how long am I gonna be out??

I have posted on this before - R.I.C.E. (rest - ice - compression - elevation)

Try rest, ice, and ibuprofen. Get some massage done too. Might be your bicep tendon that runs under your pec tie-in. And can feel like a pec tear about to happen.
 
That has happened to me maybe 5,000 times over the years, lol.....I agree with what Mekannik told you....depending on the severity, you may be able to get away with close-grips while it heals. You're probably looking at 1-2 weeks before it is totally 100%. If you have access to things like ultra sound and electro stim, it will speed things up. But, you have to make sure not to aggrivate it or it will never get better.

alright, sounds good baby, it just sucks I'm on finsihing up this last tub of celltech and my progress has just been skyrocketing, oh well...gotta take this shit in stride
