Stock Market

It would be more of an interest thing for me at the moment. I only trade on the London SE, and would have to look into commission and stamp duty rates (0.5% I think) for US stocks.

The reason I asked about small and large caps was because of liquidity and tendency to move with the markets.

I used to work at Reuters in London, and yer, that sort of data is kind of expensive, although prices are coming down if you look at a few of the light weight web delivered options…

I would ideally have an XML feed - although that is likely overkill and adds overhead that I'm not sure I need (but it does help to parse it easily, maybe just not fast) - but a good feed helps a lot.

Incidentally, IMCL (the stock that Martha Stewart is having problems over) used to show up on these a things a lot while it was getting shitbeat. It was a good thing to make money off of in its ups and downs - nothing good to hold on to though.

the combination of that and the irony of MS being on here is why I have that user name.

Ill follow some of these today on Reuters, but I just looked into trading in the US, and I'm not a big fan of the paperwork it involves... :)

What was the reason for the RNR hit, last news I have was from 15th?

I actually know the tech people at one of the RNR offices (not the Ireland based office).
That place rules - they are very solid.

If I had to pick a stock to put all of my money in and just let it sit for a long time, I would put it into that. Of course, if you are going to do that, you obviously should be using funds and not a single stock - but that is how much I like them.

In terms of the news - I don't follow the news, I just watch my code and the results.

Yahoo said that they posted good earnings, they also said that they expected to make more money than they had originally said for this year.

I would assume the drop is because they also said that the business that they were in skyrocketed after 9/11 and is maybe now slowing down a bit.

Other than that, I have no clue and don't really care.
I just think it will have a good month starting today (mind you it could go down another 4 points today and still have a good month - I don't necessarily pay much attention day to day).

RnR good earnings, then had some negative comments, wouldn't get in today since there is an earnings call, and they could guide lower.....

Well going by the 2% posted already today, it might not have been a bad buy going on the 0.5% target...

:)

I'm looking forward to supersodamizeme to wake up and see how his shit is doing.

I gave him some fun stuff last night... that sounds totally wrong. I mean anal sex. I don't know what you were thinking.
