split question

i gotta question about making sense of a split.

does putting biceps on chest day and triceps on back day instead of the old keeping them together sound like a good or bad idea..

i think its good because then youv got fresh biceps to blast cause u havnt use them in back first, and fresh triceps to blast cause u havnt used them in chest first. -id of course be sure to space my days out accordingly to make sure the other stuff dont interfere etc-

or would it be better to keep triceps with chest since u already wore em down some and biceps with back since u already wore em down some?

the other way around bud

tris on chest day and bis on back day, do the larger msucles first.

So, for example, on chest day my tris are so exhausted from my chest exercises that it doesn't take much to finsih them off, usually 3 sets of cable pull downs and another 2-3 sets of behind the neck lifts and they're done.

I currently work biceps and chest together, and shoulders and triceps together. I like the way it works out.

I am seeing better results on this split than I saw with my old split of working chest and tris, back and bis together.

It really doesnt matter. I actually like the idea, but i have a day dedicated to arms already.
I dont think you can reach your full potential if you kill chest and then attempt to do a tricep workout and the same with back and bis.
The only problem you may encounter is if you use a lot of triceps on bench and then do back and tris the next day. Other than that i thing you should give it a shot.

IMO useing the push/pull tec. is best but you will have to experiment to see what works best for you

Right now i'm doing this:

1) Chest, Bis
2) Quads, Hams, Calves
3) Shoulders, Tris
4) Back, Rear delts, Traps
5) Rest

I really find it works better than pairing chest/tris, and back/bis.

Hey awesome, just like my split
1. Chest, Biceps
2. Legs
3. Shoulders and Tris
4. Off
5. Back, Rear Delts Traps
6. Off

I got in another off day...dont you feel wiped out working out 4 days in a row?

I am not experiencing any signs of ovetraining, so I will continue with the split.

If I do, then of course ill switch it up. I should probably note that I'm under the influence of some supplements though. ;)

I actually added in another off day to that 6 day split and made it a 7 day split. Being off 'supplements' and not getting enough sleep I just felt it was the right thing to do and I am still progressing.

Sublime, try working chest and bis together and tris witht something else see how you respond to it.

my split-
chest/ bis/ front delts
back/tris/ rear delts
glutes/ legs

I train 6 days (alternating light/hi rep & heavy/low rep)... works for me:)

Shoulders and Tris is a pretty awesome workout...or so I have found...

For me at least my tris aren't that taxed after shoulders so I can still hit them pretty hard...plus you get some additional tri work from chest day

yeah but then doesnt it sort of take away from the workout a bit because you are too tired to do a buttload of sets, or finished is finished, wheather its from secondary use or not?
